00:00:00Welcome to We're Still Cool, Right? The weekly podcast where the conversation flows smoother than top-shelf whiskey. And cool, well, it never really left. Grab a drink and hang out with Erik, Mike, and Shaun while they dive into nostalgia and attempt to answer the age-old question. We're still cool, right?
00:00:30I don't know what to say right now, so that's all I could come up with other than I'm going out in a glaze of glory, so It'll make sense in a minute. It always makes sense in a minute. Just give it a minute. It's fine. Trust the process. What is this episode fucking 80 something? I know what I'm doing, okay? It's fine. You bet. Look how good it looks. You know what it looks like? Cinnamon toast crunch milk. It does, but it's not and it does not smell like that. that. We'll get into it in a minute. We're back, so thanks everybody for tuning back in. We are back! We were live. We are not anymore. That's what I should have said.
00:01:09We will get into that one. We'll get into it. I'd say we jump into this drink here. Yeah, it smells like heaven. What are we drinking, Mike? I bring to you the jelly donut. So I... Jelly donut? I should have came up with a cop quote. Pigs. Just kidding. I love you guys. No. We know that when Erik's not doing the drink, I try to go as basic as possible. And so I was Googling Halloween-type shots or drinks, and this is one of the first few that pulled up, which is kind of weird because I don't know how a jelly donut is Halloween-y, other than it's sugary, but whatever. But our friend and bartender made me one last night, and I tried it, and it's so goddamn good, so I went ahead and made it.
00:01:51So stopped into Benz Beverage Depot. 501 7th Avenue. Huge white building. Gleaming. Huge, beautiful white building. so shout out to them for sponsoring the drink Matt hooked me up with all you need is two ingredients Bailey's and how do I say it? Chambord? Chambord. That's how I say it I don't know if that's right well that's how we're going to say it it's the name now Chambordia so it's a raspberry liqueur and then Bailey's is obviously Bailey's so a lot of times take it as a shot right? yeah I was just going to say so yeah the way I read it was a shot it's one ounce and one ounce I forgot the shot glasses and we don't keep them here so I just made it as a drink. I did one and a half, one and a half.
00:02:30And then I did it in a mix up. Shaker. Thank you. I almost had a strainer with ice. Because it's way better cold. Cheers. Tell me what you guys think. It's French and the D is silent. My D is not silent. I mean, it doesn't make a big impact, but it's not silent. And we're live.
00:02:55Well, that's really good. It's fucking good. It's just dessert. Like, you're literally, it just tastes like you're drinking dessert. It does have a cereal quality to it, like milk from cereal. Yeah. Well, Bailey's does it. But then just because of the sweetness of the. It's so good, though. Like, it's like when I'm trying to think of just something you can just drink right out of the bottle. Like, some people like that Stella Rose or whatever, that pink shit. It's kind of like that. So that's what it reminds me of. Tequila Rose. God, I remember doing that all the time. One of my buddies, his mom, her family had it all the time.
00:03:35You go to her family's events, fucking tequila rose was sitting on there all the time. It was so fucking good. You know when you stop doing tequila rose? When you get sick from it. That happened? No, I just said it. I don't know that I've heard of people that have that they can't even smell it anymore. Really? I can't see that sitting on your tummy after more than a couple. I remember we would do them and it was so fun Kara's grandma if she has a drink that's what she has it's definitely a white woman thing it's like crime documentaries it's just so it's white women that love it it's fucking good though I got more of the more of it at the bottom the raspberry and again in the shot when I don't think I said this the way I looked it up you can layer it You could do the chambord and then, you know, over the back of a spoon, really slowly put the Baileys in.
00:04:27And it does kind of separate. But we just said, fuck it, did it our way. That just looks cool for the shot, but I think it tastes better that way. I agree with it. Being cold, I think, is a big deal. That's what I said. Like, I haven't had it warm, but I can't see it being as good as this. So evidently, Baileys does not need to be refrigerated. I thought it did. I thought it did, too. I looked at the bottle, unless I missed it. We'll find out. Yeah. I'll look into this because I don't think it has to be I think it's better when it's chilled but whatever allegedly Bailey's does not need to be refrigerated whether it is opened or unopened you can store Bailey's between 32 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit keep it in a cool dark place I was just going to say that it does say 32 to 77 on the bottle you can store it in a fridge if you prefer your drink chilled do not freeze it as the dairy and low alcohol content and cause it to freeze solid or split the emulsion.
00:05:21I agree. I feel like this could be taken very erotically if like Julie read it in her 900 number voice, but on the bottle it says, everyone loves cream, they said. And we love spirits and whiskey. But in the same bottle, are you sure? We just smiled. Bailey's, the original Irish cream. Oh, please sponsor us and have Julie read that.
00:05:43I fucking love Bailey's, man. Bailey's in your coffee. Good stuff. i do too i think we need to jump in eric i am trying to keep it cool calm and collected so i just really like you to kick it off all right so uh what happened i i had a uh topic that i wanted to jump in he is still cool yeah okay so my still cool for this week is is it still cool to have a website like i started thinking about this for a couple reasons which we'll get into for ours our our own selfish reasons but you go out and like you look at businesses and there's a ton of them they don't have a website or they just have a facebook page or they like did it or you try to go to the website that's on google and it's a restaurant and it's like some fake website that's not even them and it doesn't have their menu or like it just seems like it's not as cool to have a website anymore yeah it used to be like you had to have well it used to be the thing like you would go check it out every single time before but you really if you don't stay on top of it you know what I mean there's a lot of updating with it which a lot of businesses pay somebody to build it and then they don't you can't really maintain it you know what I mean then it's an ongoing cost keep doing that 100% I had so I own the domain ericwallen.com yeah you do and I did that until you get rid of that other fucking Erik Allen and some bitch and you get that we haven't talked about that piece of shit in a while will the real eric allen please stand up your website does not support a secure connection by
00:07:16the way it's not it's not actually eric w allen doesn't yeah i got a warning you should hack in and just yeah it's on pictures it's on godaddy's like pre-hosted or whatever so it's their fault i'll fix it go daddy still um continue so i used to have a website i don't anymore because i didn't want to maintain it right yeah you know but um i kept the domain for my email address and stuff i was gonna say when you when you email eric i have always thought it's cool that you're emailing like eric at eric allen.com wasn't that your son that said that was logan going yeah he was like he's got his own fucking he was like he has his own company i'm like no that's not how that works buddy at all i just pay yeah whatever it is 20 bucks a year to keep that right logan also didn't know what a pasture is. So let's just remember that.
00:08:04Love you, buddy. So in more fun news and more direct to us, we also have the domain of we'restillcoolright.com. We launched a website. God. We had the domains for a while. We mean Erik. Thank you. Who launched us a website. It's nice to have an Erik. And it fucking looks awesome, guys. So go out there to it. If you're here right now, just pause this and go to yeah we're still cool right.com yeah it is fucking cool we have we're still cool right.com and we're still cool right podcast.com oh so does that one both go to the other one all right so you know shake it up a little bit go both ways yeah do what you want to do just like sean does so what you want to get into you want to get into some stuff that's on the website not now so this is i guess this is what i would say is the argument for it still being cool yes so for our for our website we really wanted to get it out there so that when people search you can find us yeah and um you didn't have to like know to go to spotify or know to go to apple or know to go to whatever youtube all those type of things you can go there and it takes you to all of them it's got all the information in one place um also we've put some really cool features in there where you can see quotes that we've made you can see the dad jokes and you can go and vote on the dad jokes hold on also non-dad jokes for the yeah there's some there's some non-dad jokes in there as well um i'm sure you've all heard them on this show before um but we we really want it and the other
00:09:38piece the big the other big one is the drinks i think that's the biggest so we put some work into making sure that that was good it's crazy too like you click on drinks and i'm like oh god i guess we are pretty deep into the episodes now because it's like there's so many out so many drinks um and i didn't even realize there's a few of them we've made twice like we've gone back to them i mean obviously besides the obvious ones like i mean whiskey on the rocks like those are pretty obvious we've done but there's been a couple that i was like oh man we did we did that in like way early episodes and didn't remember it well it's hard to remember all the people ask me all the time so what's your favorite drink you had i'm like i don't even fucking remember all the ones i don't even remember which one we just i was just gonna say yeah i forget them you know but we you know have access to our like so i would always pulled off our social media when i was looking for a drink to do it but then you're like watching the video you're doing that so this is it's so cool like i mean anybody else out there that's like me that searches stuff for drinks when you want to do something kind of fun all the ones that we've done and when you've been listening to us they're most they're all out there now right but we're kind of clean are you kind of clean it. Yeah. It's all out there now. We're working on making sure the recipes are right and some of that stuff, like some of the finer details, but all the drinks are out there.
00:10:53I've confirmed that we've got each drink per episode. Even some episodes had two drinks. So that was kind of cool that it helped me find that. And so we're working, we're working to keep making it better every day. Well, I will say Erik's been on this every single day doing this. So rather than quote unquote, waiting for it to be perfect. You know what I mean? Like if you see a, if you see something that's not on there we're probably working you know i mean like it's our it really is getting added and like the quote for example is kind of small but like it's only getting bigger because it's still going through and we're finding stuff still but uh but it's it's just so funny i clicked on the quotes and obviously we can't remember what we drank last week right so you go to the quotes and i'm like i don't remember that i don't remember that and i'm like i have no idea who said that well so i found like a quote i'll just i don't where was the one i said that we ended up finding out who it was.
00:11:43I'm trying to see if I can find it again. Otherwise, like right here, this one says, you're not allowed to ask if Diddy is still cool, right? Okay. So right under it, there's the timestamp, and you click on it, and it literally pops you right to, you can go watch the episode, or it pops you to the exact audio timestamp so you can listen to it. So you hear what we're talking about and why that popped out? And by the way, I'm pretty sure that was Logan. Hold on. So you guys have all finished it? Yeah. Okay, we'll talk about next episode. You're not allowed to ask if Diddy is still cool. Yeah, yeah.
00:12:12I had a feeling. I thought I remembered Logan saying that. But it's awesome. It goes right to the timestamp. Well, and you know what? What? I was right. Ego rub. Okay, yes. But yeah, so the quotes are awesome. The drinks are awesome. But I think we're going to put band names out there because we've come up with a lot of those. Oh, it's already there. That's how quick it was. That's how good Erik is at this. So we were meeting before, and we started talking about all the band names we've come up with. You might have to refresh and pick. Oh, it's there. Holy shit. So you've been listening for a while.
00:12:47Every time we come over, we're like, that's a fucking good band name. So anybody starting a band looking for some good names? Yeah, you can go out there, and you can find Boner Detention. These are terrible names, but they're funny. Oh, some of them are great band names. No, All in the Stink. I mean, Garage Sale Penis Pump is probably in my top three. Fornicating Fathers might be my number one. and uh yeah headlining you know what band name anything you need for name some of these would be good fancy football team names or anything you need some kind of a weird name for go out there and check it out there's plenty of feel free to use them yeah so thanks for doing that buddy it's it's really cool and it looks cool too so um we we realized we're so fucking bad at taking pictures oh my god which could lead us to our next topic here yeah that could be mine because i'm fucking so let's vote on this though yeah okay website's still cool because like this made it kind of cool maybe we're bringing it back to cool i don't know but i'd say yes because because to me i i as we were talking about this before the show started it's like restaurants are huge for having those right but there's a lot of restaurants that don't do it now and then it pops you to their facebook and there's no goddamn menu on the facebook and i'm like i'm not going there now i want to know what's on the menu so i think they're cool i would agree that they're cool not everybody needs them you know what I mean because just sometimes you don't you know or you don't need like a personal page with your name like I don't know Seanberry.com right don't need it the first time I did that it was because I was an IT guy and it was like almost like a resume you know it's like you gotta like show that you know how to do some shit
00:14:19you're an IT and you don't have your own Facebook page or your own website but like for my window business I just do a Facebook one because it's I don't nothing you know I don't need to update like it's just not I get more off a before me to try because you know i'm like trying to research i looked and i saw that yours was a facebook page yeah and somebody else has the dot com for your yeah so it's like it's such a weird yeah so um so yeah so i think it depends but yes i think when done right it's really cool um and i hope i don't like i still go to them but i do it a ton for for business though i do a ton for work like i will research companies Facebook or their website because it gives me an insight to what they do or what they're into, you know, before I make a sense.
00:15:07But if you research it now you go to like Google and look them up and try to dig down you don go like so and so right because i don think the dot thing is so important anymore well so it depends for a certain business i will because a lot of times they put the information that they want out there so then when i'm talking to them i'm i'm commenting on their you know like a lot of businesses put their history they put their stuff they put stuff they're proud of out there so i want to know it so i can talk to them about what you know if i'm doing research to determine the quality of a customer yeah that might that's that's that's not on their own stuff that's different so you know did you have something to say i i have a take on this if you're um which is that i think this is one of those times where your show is kind of weird where like what does it mean to be cool right so like i think about the late 90s early 2000s the initial internet bubble right is like websites were cool because they were like doing animations and they were interactive and people were like discovering what they were like that was cool right i don't think websites are cool anymore i have seen some cool websites for the record in terms of like design and aesthetic and doing cool stuff so they are they can still be cool yeah like ours go check it out yeah uh but more so i would say even if they are or are not cool you if you you are running a legitimate project, you should have a website.
00:16:32And the reason why is mostly for discoverability. We live in 2026. It's the future. And people are searching the internet in different ways. You need that authority. You should be having a blog. You should be up to date on your SEO keywords. You should put alt tags on your fucking photos. It's 2026, guys. So what I mean is like... I'd explain to you, but it's kind of confusing. Oh, okay. And your example is great about the window cleaning business because your small local operation, whatever, that's fine for Facebook. But if you start using an AI tool or a search tool to search for legitimate businesses, it's not going to Facebook to look for those things because it can't access Facebook.
00:17:16And I know because I've tried. We're trying so hard to get into Facebook. They can't do it. But these live language models can search websites and they will. sure and um i think your point about domains like actually typing in the dot com is valid most people don't interact with web internet anymore that way but the website and the content that is still on the website is more important than ever yeah that makes sense if you have a legitimate project you should have a website and i think that if you want your website if you want your business to be successful i think that's cool yeah there you go that's what makes it fucking cool i have a techie question as a non-techie guy do you get to pick the either dot com or the dot like edu or yes so like i could have fornicatingfathers.edu maybe okay edu is different that's why i didn't know if it had to be yeah it has restrictions i just think it'd be really funny i have like a dirty website that said edu so okay because people like because it's an approved thing that people can search. Exactly.
00:18:14Looking out for you guys. Teachers and staff. EDUs are restricted. Gov is restricted. There's a couple others probably. Alright, the gov one I get. That makes sense. Well, you can also have fun ones for the record. Oh, really? What did you want your website to be? Fornicatingfathers. Oh, yeah. Wait, it can be more than three letters? Yeah. So you can do like... They changed that a lot. Oh, yeah. In the beginning, there was basically like five of them. It was like Com, Net, Go. It was very limited. It still needs to be certain things, but you can do fornicatingfathers.dating. You can do fornicatingfathers.club.
00:18:58fornicatingfathers.education. Hey, we're back, baby. That's pretty close. All right, I'll take that. Hear that, teachers? fornicatingfathers.love, fornicatingfathers.men. Those are all really good. I don't even think fornicatingfathers.com was taken, which shocked me. Yeah, it's still available.
00:19:16Even after we talked about it, don't we snatch it out? It's on sale for $10. I was going to say, Logan was supposed to get it for us, but it's okay. Do not pay me. Touche. Fornicatingfathers.church. What do you think that's... I like that. There's so many jokes in that. We're just talking about... It does cost more to do the specialty endings. That's how they fuck you. The church will always get theirs in the end, won't they? Fucking tax break motherfuckers. Anyway, but yeah, so anyway check the website out. It's awesome. It is you did a fucking way good job Real cool boy, cool, you bet. What the fuck is that one?
00:19:55The Minions? Have we heard that one before? I don't think so. I don't think so. Real cool boy, cool. You bet, you bet. You bet. That's not Minions, because they don't talk that clear. It's an old-school one. It's the Tex Avery show. Mmm what I've never heard of it either. Yeah, oh old school. Oh shit Yeah, that one's great all right hell yeah well done well good job. Yeah, go check that out So yeah, we've gone but let's get back to what we just did last weekend Yeah, a pretty good little Saturday. What a nice little Saturday. I still say went to Home Depot Yeah, we got some we got some food at emails and then yeah went did our first actual in-person live right so for All you guys that showed up. Thank you Thank you to confuse breakfast for letting us open up. Yes, and be a part of it It was wow we felt pretty fucking cool. Yeah, and all the work that Logan did yeah They was look real good when we're like, I don't know what to do he goes just stand here, and I'll tell you For the right you haven't seen it yet, so you don't know if you looked cool or not. I just know I look fat i can't wait to see it yeah but there was three cameras on us that's an extra 30 pounds there were four cameras yes okay even better okay more more excuses i got amateur i got uh i got a lot of faith in you that it's gonna look cool and whether it looked cool or not i don't know but it was cool to do yeah we had a lot i mean a lot of people showed up which again sean just said
00:21:25but seriously thank you to everyone that came it means a lot yeah and it was a blast um well can i can we take a second to zoom out and mention that like you put on a show where you went on stage and talked for 30 minutes 40 for you're right 40 minutes about a brand about a piece of entertainment that you all have created out of your brains from nothing yeah and people paid money to come and watch you and laugh and they did right yes that's yes it's nuts yeah nobody booed us nothing was throwing it i was shocked i was like where's the tomatoes it wasn't just like silent in the room no no it was a lot of laughs that was our biggest fear going into it i think is that it was just going to be quiet but it was you know and like we said in the beginning we're a long way from your basement when we were up there you know i mean really when you think about like what logan just said when we kind of just came up with the idea you know we'll see what the hell happens and then yeah i just imagined us talking and then like there'd be nothing and then logan would have to be be like fuck and then the cricket noise would play and i'm like god damn it like here we go so yeah eventually there yeah yeah but no i went over really well it actually was when we got up there i don't know we got some laughs right away which relaxed yeah you know we got a good laugh right away but we just like to have a good time and we wanted everyone to have a good time so it's like it wasn't about obviously we were just doing what we do we we did some research i knew what we
00:22:56were going to talk about but we were just there like in a big room with all of our friends just bullshitting but we met for a drink before um before we went and the three of we're pretty nervous boys dude you're not supposed to sing to the point to where if they were like hey show's not on tonight we'd be like oh man that's too bad we don't have to do it though i think we were all kind of coming to that final realization that it's not here where we can just sit here and talk and laugh at ourselves and not really know if somebody else we normally only have looking at us like we're stupid and then here there's you know multiple people looking at us like we're stupid well and it's also when we do it here i still kind of treat it like it's like like i'm i don't want downtime you know i mean even though he can cut it out and make it look good but then i was like oh my god like this is real like there really is no cutting it out like this is if i run out something to talk about it yeah when we don't know what we're gonna say like that's just it we're looking at each other we're pretty good at filling dead space unless we're all drinking at the same time we are but we were aware of that and people gave us advice like have more topics than you think because lives it just goes faster when you're live and i had a full page of notes everywhere like when we had met before and eric had some notes too that he conveniently left in the greeting room you know we were live it was one minute before we're supposed to go on and i'm kind of panicking i'm like i left all my notes back there guys and i was like dude i gotta run right now. He's like, no, it's fine. It's fine. It's fine.
00:24:26I'm like, all right. So I'm looking at my notebook and I'm like, there's... Or I could have gone. I mean, good point. We made it work. We don't pay you enough for that. Or you had many people there who like love you and sleep in the same beds with you.
00:24:41So at one point I looked down at my notebook and I'm like, there's ain't a fucking word on here that we haven't said yet. Everything is covered. We have covered all our topics and... Ooh, that was something I was going to ask you about. I felt like you guys were going fast. You were moving through your content really fast. Sure. I think that was the panic. A little bit of nervous. Can't have a quiet area. You know? Something like... Yeah. I mean, it wasn't... It wasn't bad. No, but you could tell. No. I, as your producer, could tell, like, oh, they're really trucking through a lot of stuff. Yeah.
00:25:13What was that waiting for some of those moments that we could have given long... You know what I mean? But I was... Once we would get laughs or someone would say something, I was just so charged up. Yeah. You know what I mean? when we would ask something and they'd say something back i mean i have spoken in front of tons of people before and like throwing something out like what do you think and nobody says you know what i mean you're like all right well fuck somebody say one thing you know what i mean and like we lobbed a few things out and people were yeah yeah i know like this is fucking great yeah i noticed i know and this is fun because we can just talk about this now i i noticed that you seem just to me like from the outside a little bit more nervous than like here you could you just feel like it's like normal like it's going and i'm sure i did too i'm sure i mean i was nervous but i i because i wanted it to come across clear you know i didn't want us to get in too much of one of our rambling things to be up there and be like well they're fun but i didn't really know where you know i mean so i would have it all be inside jokes yeah so i was much more aware of that than I normally am or than I normally care.
00:26:20But I also was very concerned about where we were going next. And as my notebook just started, I'm like, fuck, we are like, we are like rolling through this baby, you know? And I felt like you kept going, Shaun, you got something for that. Fuck off, Erik! Fuck off, Erik! Again, I blacked out, so I don't remember. I only did it once. Guys, if all else fails, I always have something we can go to. But I didn't want to get on my phone and go back to my notes app. You know what I mean? So it clearly worked out. But to me, that's where I was more nervous. And then once we'd start our topic, it was gone.
00:27:00Then when we were transitioning, I'd get nervous. You know what I mean? It was gone. We also have to say, on here, we have at minimum an hour. Plus, we have Patreon and stuff like that. But there, going into it, we thought we only had 30 minutes. Then we found out right before it started, we had 40. and it's we can get talking and sometimes 30s like that that's gonna fly by you know what i mean so we were more panicked about also being proper guests and not going over the time and stuff like that yes and so i got us talking fast i didn't figure out the dad joke until we were on stage yeah that me panicking i can like to be honest with you i was like come on like oh shit i forgot about that i forgot my notes i forgot the dad joke so is eric planning on doing anything or is I'm not really contributing here, guys.
00:27:42I'm just holding on to this table. And a new listener in the front row. She got the dad joke and pissed me off. Thank you for that. That's almost what made it fucking perfect, was that somebody got it, and so he had to just write on stage. We got to make fun of my height because I couldn't reach the microphone. That was fun. You know what I mean? It doesn't go any lower. Awesome. Cool. And I literally had made that milk carton joke before we walked in, and it ended up being true. I should have brought a milk carton. It also worked because right when I said it, everybody laughed, which meant everybody was thinking about it.
00:28:10Oh, yeah. Because you've got, like, Erik, and then a child, and then Shaun, who's a normal human, and I was like, this looks so fucking weird right now. I could barely see where it was perfect. Guys, I have little legs. Yeah, it was so good. Yeah. But, I don't know. I fucking had a blast. Like, I told you guys I wanted to do a live and wanted to do another one. It was so fun. Yeah. I just, I absolutely loved it, and Doored it even. 00:29:43thank you guys for having us uh the classic event center for hosting it mango mustache upload media as always for everything logan does for us there it is don't worry he did that that night too um but yeah it was a blast and then again to our friends that we can count on like yeah they knew it was a big deal and they came out um in droves for us and really you know they help us yeah we didn't have to imagine people naked when we were nervous because we're like well at least we could actually i couldn't see shit by the way i was blind as fuck it worked out well for me at least where i was standing because i was worried that i was going to be like looking at all of our friends and family but they were right in my blind spot like i couldn see shit yeah i kept like hearing certain people in the front row but that was it that all i could see which were people I didn know I hear Kelly or Cara Adam laughing and I look over And it's just like silhouettes I don't know who that is That made it fun too But congratulations boys I'm proud of us Happy for us That was a big moment I'm happy and proud to be doing it with you guys Cheers to doing more So, um, chaps my ass?
00:30:53Yeah. Is it good to go there? Before I do that, quick toast, shout out to, uh, I gotta give a shout out. I know where you're going. No, you don't. You might. I think I do. You think you do? I'm gonna do two of them. I'm gonna do this one first. I know at least one. Yeah, exactly. I'm gonna give a shout out to my dog, Stark. He's eight years old today. Oh. Didn't know that one already, Stark.
00:31:14Birthday, Stark. I went to Arby's and got him a little roast beef slider for his birthday, so he was a happy boy. I have his birthday from last year on the podcast. We talked about it. Did we really? Oh, that's funny. It was in the notes. It's on the website. Shout out to our dogs. Search up Stark. You can see how many times we talk about Stark. I'm going to do that now. How much should I talk about my dog? Jesus Christ. He's made it a lot. Yeah, well, he doesn't get royalties, so he's going to fuck himself. Who was your other shout out to? I just want to give a shout out, and I know we're a serious podcast and this is a little sad, but we lost a good guy five years ago, so I just wanted to give a shout out to our buddy Chris who's gone. So shout out to him.
00:31:49Cheers. Yeah, we miss you, buddy. Cheers, buddy. So chaps your ass. On a positive note, hold on. Ditka versus a hurricane. Who wins? Oh, Dick all day. How about a hurricane named Ditka? Yeah, that'd be sweet. Everybody's fucked.
00:32:10Hurricane Ditka coming right at you. We lost Ditka. God, that sucks. But I heard there's been funny shit going around about all the stories are so good yeah um i heard this today he for his steakhouse you know dick his steakhouse they're filming a commercial and what they did you know so he's in it and they're talking about how you know he don't like to be told what to fucking do or anything so the director's like the limo's gonna pull up i want you get out look at the look at the steakhouse you know take it in and and then walk in. So Dicka's limo pulls up. He gets out. Just does that. You know, takes a look at it.
00:32:51Walks in their thing. He's like, okay. That was good. We're gonna do it again. This time the limo's gonna come out and I really want you to pause. Just really take it in. Like, this is just a big moment for you. A little pause. And then walk in. And they said Dicka got back in his limo in the way the fucking limo went.
00:33:09Dicka gave him one take. That's all he got to use. He's the fucking man dude i wouldn't have even thought to do that in that moment you know what i mean so he has this huge restaurant and all this advertising and he gets in takes off i'm like that's dude even just the old interviews of him that like i we've seen a lot of them through years just of clips but like they're obviously pulling out everything now because he passed and just some of the ones where like the way he talked to reporters man it's like that needs to come back you know what i mean just like no bullshit like you don't seem happy mike would Would you be if you were two and seven?
00:33:44Like, it just jumps down people's throats. This wasn't a very fun day, was it? Yeah. It's like, don't ask stupid questions if you don't want stupid answers. You know what I mean? So I was really hoping the Bears, by the way, would play with some ferocity. You'd think they would have shown up a little bit. They look terrible. But anyway, let's not get started with football after the Rams game last night because I won't shut the fuck up.
00:34:08You got to chaps my ass about that? Fuck football. Fuck it. Yeah. i gotta chat my ass about uh being a grown-up and a homeowner oh please just getting fucking clobbered ashley and i just taking a beating right now like things going out yeah so we're um well we're all going to mexico yeah right so book that we've been talking about a spring break trip that we're gonna do then all of a sudden oven stops working which we've been kind of dealing with this oven that we've had for a while like i don't know with what ashley does you know she works with appliances so we get some high-end appliances for pretty good prices and so we have this one which was supposed to be awesome and from day one it's fucking been a pain of our ass like just from the the very beginning um so we've had different problems in and out and then it was acting up and ashley was cooking something on saturday saturday morning and all of a sudden it starts smelling like burnt plastic and smoking what and so it's like shut it off something in the i don't know thermostat something with it is is fucked up and ashley looked into it and they're like just get a new one like by the time you fix everything it's not it's not gonna be working yeah um so we're talking about that and after our weekend and last night we're hanging around and running some errands and stuff and then also it gets time to kind of like wind down and i open up the freezer and our fucking ice cubes are not frozen they're like
00:35:42melting fucking ice makers the worst our fucking fridge went out the whole thing the whole the fucking refrigerator is out so now i'm unloading the beer fridge to get all the stuff in the fucking refrigerator that we have out there yeah for that to go on the house fridge went out yeah yeah the main one which have you checked your microwave because things come in threes got it so then we got hit our fucking ac which we've known has been running a little slow not keeping up but it was like all right it's older and um with how hot it was this year we were giving it like a little like grace you know yeah fuck just how hot it was the last couple days wasn't even keeping up anywhere close really so three fucking bangers that i'm gonna pay for and if anybody that's bought these things they're probably the three most expensive fucking appliances that you can get between a fridge an oven yeah you'd rather your water heater like dishwasher you know those two are we've already done those things so the the furnaces the only one more but it's a great advertisement for homeowner's insurance um yeah not not specifically like your home insurance, but home owner's insurance where you have a policy that covers specifically appliances and things like that.
00:37:00We did those all the time when I was in real estate and we wrote them right into the offers. Cover it for your first year. Anything breaks, you're good. It's all your kitchen appliances, your furnace, your conditioning, things like that. Have you ever used it? Oh yeah. I don't carry it anymore because I like to play with danger. For like three years we had it. We covered a bunch of stuff. I had it for two years when we got our house because again, it was written into it and I did use it. It's a fucking nightmare to deal with it because they don't want to pay you anything. It's like they're fighting with you, but it's still better. Yeah, they got to pay eventually. You know what I mean? Eventually it did work out, but let's just basically deal with insurance these days. That'll chat my ass too.
00:37:37You want to get in the insurance coverage? No, there's not enough time left in the episode. What I'm disappointed about though is sometimes when these things happen, like it can be a blessing. Like I Aaron and I recently replaced our refrigerator. Sure. i i replaced it before i went out but i was sick of the thing like we moved in with this refrigerator and i hated it from day one just because it had this like stupid little drawer in the middle that would freeze everything in the refrigerator like in the bottom yeah of the refrigerator portion had this nice little drawer that was very convenient but if anything you put in there would freeze really it's weird it'd get too cold coming up from the freezer i don't know what it was but everything in there with a little snack drawer yeah because we've been looking for like hot dogs or whatever like we put in there and it would freeze so you couldn't put anything in there that's so weird or just nothing nothing you didn't want frozen and it wouldn't even freeze it like good so not even like an extension of your freezer where you're like well i'll put those in right so when we finally just like the the real last straw was the bottom drawer thing like the freezer was the bottom drawer and it would never get sealed so the kids would just like shove it and and it would never seal, and then it would fill up with ice crystals.
00:38:48I was like, fuck this thing. It's a beer fridge in the garage now. It's like, I don't care anymore, and we got a new one. So that felt good. As much as I didn't want to spend the money, it feels good. You're in this situation where it's like, fuck. Well, I like getting new shit. Hopefully you get an upgrade. Yeah, I like spending money. I like getting new shit. I like that. We're just getting, like, but three at one time. like when we have a couple vacations that we were planning and you know and planning one and then like the one just that we just got it was like and then get hit with those three where it was like okay one of them goes out like it wasn't great but that's how we were like we were like we need a deep enough anyways like let's just get it anyways yeah put them when the fridge is out you're like you gotta have a fridges it's like come the on now he's the worst because Well, the AC springs probably.
00:39:42Well, hold on. I was just going to say, actually, that one, you barely made it out. Yeah. Like, by the skinnier sack, because now it's getting chilly. Because even if it gets to 90 again, it isn't going to stay. So we're just going to ride that baby out. But I feel like, and I think that's the right move, but I feel like the AC is the worst, because you just want it to work. You don't give a fuck about it. Like, it doesn't make your life better other than making it cooler. You don't get to be like, oh, I have this nice new refrigerator. It just sits outside. It ties the whole kitchen together. No, it doesn't fucking tie the outside together.
00:40:17It's just fucking an eyesore out there. Yeah, that's a good point. I'm scared about, like, I've been at my house 12 years and they had to put a brand new furnace in when we got it, and that's great. But shit doesn't last anymore. Actually, so that's really what chats my ass. But go ahead. So I'm already kind of like, every time I walk down and see it, I'm just like, please keep working. I can tell my water heater is going out The pressure has gotten bad, it takes forever to get hot I'm like alright, that thing was That needed replaced anyway, I'll do that Don't wait Why? Because it'll blow out You get a leak in it, it can ruin your basement So I'm just saying We can talk offline about it You should check at it, just take a look at it Just make sure you don't have any seals But that's normally what happens You've seen the Sopranos Oh fuck I didn't need to think about that yeah but yeah so it's just like the i can't believe like nothing fucking lasts and like some of my favorite videos to watch on facebook are just like old things that are still work have you ever seen how refrigerators used to be how cool they were and they lasted fucking 100 plus years but like they had lazy susan trays inside so you could like grab stuff from the back easily they had like 90 functions that aren't in fucking refrigerators anymore and they lasted forever you You used to be able to crawl into it and survive a nuclear blast or something, right?
00:41:37I don't think you could anymore. You can't do that in mine. I know for a fact we threw away a refrigerator at my parents' house that if you fucking pulled it out of wherever it's at, you'd plug it in and it'd probably fire right up again. Right. It was green and it was just basic and it was, I mean, the door was like, the door handle was all fucked up, but that thing was the greatest beer fridge ever. Yeah. And you look at how many beer fridges out there, an old fridge that it's still fucking running, yet I'm about to spend a shitload of money on a fridge that, once it comes in, set the clock, because they just tell you they don't last very long anymore.
00:42:13You're lucky. I think these days to get 10 years out of a fridge. If you get 10 years, yeah, they're like, yeah. Five, seven? And you're like, I just spent an incredible amount of money on that for that to really, and that's like an acceptable answer. Right. Yeah, no one gives a shit anymore. My AC unit when I replaced it What two years ago now That thing had been running From the 50s It was Sears and Roebuck high efficiency Now I will say all that shit used so much energy True They're getting you one way or another I don't even want to say what my electric bill was in the summer running that AC unit But that thing fucking survived man And finally when I replaced it My electric bill went down by more than half 100 was when you got the first boat And you're like oh shit I was like, oh, well, I should have done that sooner.
00:42:59You know, but yeah. That checks my ass. Yeah. Do you have an old one? We have all window units. Oh, yeah. Our house is the most inefficient house ever. Sure. It's leaky and old and 100 years old, you know. Yeah. We had one month this summer. Our electric bill had a five on the front of it, and I almost died. Fuck. This was a bad year for that. It was. It was hot as shit. Yeah. Yeah. Rough. It would have been families all hanging out in this. we're all sleeping in here eating here correct we're all in one room yeah yeah looked at different options or is it the only option because of the house yeah it well we can install one but it's going to be like a five figure oh yeah thing that i'm not taking on right now right it's also not a forever home for us you know so it's like how much do you want to invest exactly yeah in a house like just enough to keep it relevant yeah keep it up to yeah well i just say about the furnace too we have a furnace i carried that homeowner's insurance for three years when we first moved in waiting for that furnace to die.
00:43:57I would walk downstairs and be like, please die. Come on, baby. Please die. Kick it every now and then. It's still going. Still going. I don't want to admit how much I thought about Googling how do I fuck this thing up on purpose without them knowing.
00:44:12Insurance fraud is not a good idea, kids. That's where you just have to brag about it. Right. It goes out right from there. We got the fucking greatest in the world. The thing never... This is true. I never have problems with that. Yeah. But the reason I got so triggered when you said, ice maker is like i've that's probably the biggest thing in my life where when i i got my fridge new three months later that it stopped working it will it will cool ice but then somehow it melts and then refreezes so it just turns into a sheet of ice and so and the company came out and looked at it and they're like yeah it's it's it's working like it should i'm like it's not and i like showed him pictures fucking not working yeah stop telling me it's working like it should under warranty or anything so they were they were just they were trying to be nice but they're like you're just stuck with it and i was like okay i've bought ice ever since then i just i just don't deal with it so if i had a few more beers than me i'd get really loud right now but i am i am it just it pisses me off but that's what ashley and i talked about last night she's like well what do you what do you think is important about a fridge i'm like that we can get some fucking ice because we've been filling up fucking ice cube trays because ours which is the worst you know like whatever and it's just annoying as fuck and everybody in our house wants ice and nobody wants to fill up the ice cream trays.
00:45:29We go through so much ice. I buy like five bucks for the 20 pound bag and I only get it from Hy Gas Station because it the best ice They big cubes and not like shitty little And it close by you so you can get home without it you know solid without it melting yeah but it like yeah but it just annoying having to do it so first world problems i know i sorry if you whatever from somewhere that doesn't have ice but chaps my ass makes me so mad like irrationally mad what kind of fridge did you get is it like a side by side oh no well it's built in We're looking at the side-by-side with the drawers on the bottom.
00:46:07And the only reason why we have it is because it has this whole built-in around it. So the one that we found didn't fit. So add fucking that on top of it. It was a custom fridge with a custom cabinet built around it. So now to order a refrigerator that fits in the fucking custom fucking cabinet built around it is a lot harder than you think. So I don't have a fucking fridge yet. I got a beer fridge that's full of regular food and no beer. that fucking pisses me off that pisses me off hey I have a mini for you to borrow see what level I'm on right now our criteria was does it fit the hole in the cabinet and I will never have another fucking drawer on the bottom ever again I would like to get away from that I like having drawers on the bottom I mean I know you have the problem and it never seals I don't know ours hasn't been like that so I don't know maybe i'll regret it but i feel like i feel like we also don't have much in the freezer in the room because we have another freezer that we're all like the fucking chicken nuggets and you know like yeah shit that they eat all the time otherwise i think they only open up the freezer just to get ice out so i need to have freezers the side by side is it feel like the freezer feels a little bit smaller so they don't put as much shit much it's just like that's true ice cream and chicken nuggets where i have freezers i put shit i don't need i've learned that now i'm like all open i have my fridge the main one in the house and then i have a beer fridge in the garage so there's a
00:47:38freezer on that and then i have a deep freeze not a huge one but a chest one and i looked in them the other day and i'm like that's probably all freezer burnt like i don't know what the fuck that is you know it's not like terrible looking you could tell what everything is but i'm like why do i have all this shit like how many frozen full chickens do i need like am i smoking 12 birds tomorrow? Like, what is going on? So I defrosted a couple the other day to smoke them. They took forever to unthaw. Now they're probably bad, because I don't know. I probably should have cooked them by now. Can you trust your smoker?
00:48:06No! No! I hate you so much right now. I wish you would have fallen off the stage with the live. Have you ever done the... I almost did! Have you ever done the quick thaw? Like, put them in... No, I mean, I don't trust that. It works great. Just putting it in water? In water. Yeah. Cold water? cold water cold water in the sink and then keep refilling it with cold water i do it all the time kind of my go-to oh really i don't know how you saw a pork butt in like the time that you want you put it in the fridge five days before you're gonna smoke them who has time and fridge space for that me i've got so many i have a beer fridge that they it's no i literally i do it you'll go to my beer fridge you're like oh look at this bush light why is there meat on top of everything like It's de-thawing So, I don't know Best tasting bush light ever See?
00:48:54I haven't smoked chickens in forever and I'm dying to do it And you fucking asshole, I hate that you brought that up I'm like, I'm scared to use it It's going to fuck up anyway, so why the fuck am I doing this? I was only asking Because I thought about you today Because I saw that there were some pork butts for 99 cents a pound 99? Where? That's cheap The cheapest I've seen them in like a while It's like $1.49 $19.99. And then I called and they were gone. Oh, that makes sense. Because I was going to go over and get them. Dude, as soon as they do that. They get them in and they're just gone. People walk in and literally fill up cars.
00:49:24Well, and they took pictures on Facebook, so I'm like, fuck it. You're screwed. It's like, why do they do that? Just let them sit for a day. Well, you don't even need to. Yeah. Because they're not going to last. No, because if you're like me and you go by and you see that, four of those are coming home. You know what I mean? For sure. All right, Shaun. You guys have anything else that you need to bring up? No. Okay, I have to bring something up. I was going to bring this up to you. I was going to save it for the live, and I didn't do it. Because I didn't know how it would go. Because I've been playing a prank on you for like over a year now.
00:49:59But I don't think it's worked. Because I feel like I would have heard something by now. Do you know what I'm talking about? I don't think so. Oh, okay. Well, this makes me fucking feel terrible. It's okay. Because it's either going to happen to you or it's not going to happen. I think the only people that knew were Adam and Nick. because I think Nick helped me do it a little bit too. So a couple of years ago, I saw this video of this guy saying like, my friend pulled the most like gangster prank on me ever. And they were like, he's a construction worker. He's blue collar. He goes to like, he's on construction sites all the time.
00:50:32One day I just like start getting pictures of random shits from a urinal. And he can't figure out why. He got like three in a day. And then like you get four the next day. And it's like, it just spiraled. And he's like, you can't block them because they just keep the different people were doing it. And he's like, these are like hot Arizona, like Hispanic Taco Bell shit. So like not good, right? So then he finds out that his friend was like every urinal he would go into, he would write on the door and it would say, please send me pictures of your poop and write his phone number. So I've done that to you in like 12 urinals or 12 porta potties, hoping someone would send you pictures.
00:51:07I even got one. Damn it. I even got one. You did tell me about this. Okay. Yeah. I'm remembering it. Obviously, I would hope to do more, but I'm not a construction worker. I don't run into him all the time, but I'm like, how by now has he not gotten one? You know what I mean? Because I figured if it happened, you would say something. It's not my old phone number, is it?
00:51:26Oh, no. Did you put my old phone number? How long ago? It would have been. How long ago did you change? Oh, fuck. It was about a year ago that you did this? I've been doing it for. because it was right around when we had the podcast that i would have switched i've done it on both then now that i think about it because i've been doing it longer than that but i go into my phone and look at my contact number for you when i do it okay but i hope the old person's at least gotten some i hope so too i have not got one single picture of someone taking a shit well i'm sorry i tried so i thought it'd be the funniest shit ever i'm like i just this would be so funny to do with the live if one person has sent him a shit.
00:52:12But I don't know if they have and I can't say anything to him because it ruins it. So you know, so you're right. But I could give you a tip that you could have said. I got this random fucking shit picture the other day. And I would have been like, fuck it. That happened to me a few months ago. Or I'd be like, you fucking weirdo. I guess. You probably deserved it. I remember when I said that's true. I definitely would have been like, you know or it was you know eric or you know yeah i just remember when i saw the tiktok laughing hysterically at this guy's video for like 10 minutes and i was like who can i do that to that's gonna absolutely hate it that's probably gonna say something to me about it happening and like i will see their reaction in somewhat real time and so i thought of you first i would have probably gotten a new phone number.
00:53:05I don't think that... Oh, God, no. No, but I have not got one. Although, I don't know if I would have told you about it, because I'd have been super self-conscious, like, what's going on? And that's another reason I'm like, maybe it's happened to him, and he just hasn't said anything. That's what I'm saying. If you would have lobbed that out there, and it did happen to me, I would have been like, oh my God, that happened to me, too.
00:53:28Three days in a row! You know what's gonna happen now? I'm gonna get fucking loaded with all these shit pics now. From everybody you know, not... God, I hope so. Guys, if you need help blocking your number, just hit me up. I'll show you how to do it. Because if you do it from a block number, he can't block you. Why me, fuckhead? Why'd you have to pick me out? It just seemed like it would bother you the most, but at the same time, you'd laugh. It just made the right sense in my head at the time. Erik would be annoyed by it, but Erik would be like, I just keep getting shit pictures. He'd be annoyed, but not as annoyed as you'd be.
00:53:59I just felt like it made more sense to do it to you. But it was all for nothing now. All that fucking Sharpie ink I wasted for nothing. There's probably somebody going through the port-a-potties scrubbing them off. And that could be, but usually when you use one, it's sitting somewhere where it's going to be for at least a weekend. So these were port-a-potties? Did I say urinal? I meant port-a-potties. So I also do feel like port-a-potties have, like that business has gotten better. Meaning like when you go in there they're not as fucked up as they used to be you know i mean like so no but like some of the ones i've used were like at like music things or whatever so you're like well it's here for at least the night or at least maybe the weekend you know what i mean sure i didn't do it at our pool at least one guy and i want to deface something we go to all the time but i have seen them clean that port-a-potty though before which it smells terrible when they clean up like the wind changes you're like oh god yeah they clean the shit out of them like like power they go in there like foam the whole thing down and then spray it out wipe it all down i'm like it's dude remember when we were younger uh let's not get into that never mind i was like i don't want to talk about that it's disgusting but we've all been in some bad ones i don't know how else to say that or like you go to a festival or whatever and it's like they don't clean them the entire two days you and you're like bro like you can't do that right you have not seen a bad port-a-potty until you've been to a rag brai port-a-potty oh i can't imagine that's like i i would actively just like i gotta find a gas station or something and i will wait in line yeah poor women though like it's so much harder for them is god awful like i'll just shit
00:55:34they just sit out in the sun fuck off oh i didn't even think about that yeah most people most people it's cornfields you just go find a cornfield you got to i mean really you're just making better corn at that point right like i dropped so good we didn't want him to be alone on his birthday so Kara was like, bring him over to me before you go to the podcast. So I did. He runs in her backyard. He's never done this, by the way. She has a garden. And she's like clearing it out right now for next year. But he never goes in the garden. He fucking just runs right up to her, like wags his tail, and pisses all over the garden. And she's like, what the fuck?
00:56:03It's his birthday. You can't tell him what to do today. He's allowed. And I'm like, really? He's just adding compost for next year, right? It's fine. These tomatoes are fucked up. What's going on? They just taste tainted or sour. I can't figure it out. But he's never done that. He just ran right up and pissed right next to her. And I was like, well, say it's your birthday.
00:56:26It's my turn to piss, yeah. It feels like if he knew that it was his birthday and he knew he could get a lawyer with anything, he would just take full advantage of it. Fuck yeah, prick. So anyway, that's all. I guess to say it, I'm happy for you that no one sent you shit, but I'm way more sad that no one sent you shit. Even if it was one person, it would have made me so happy. I'm not gonna lie. You're like telling me the story. I'm like There's like fucking shit Like somewhere that I was supposed to see Like it's gonna tell me and I like walk past it I know how scared were you and I were like playing a prank on you for a year I'm like In my head I was thinking of like every kind of fucked up thing that was like that I've ever had had like Like that's what happened to my fucking oven you kept tripping the fucking breaker You fucker you just cost me so much money I didn't see it, but last night I totally fucked your fridge up.
00:57:20I just ran out the door. It just cost me five grand, Pauly. Yeah, I'm a prick. I'm not that big of a prick. And this is why when I say I'm like, people are like, like when you were fucking with me over the smoke or the weekend after it happened, you're like, fuck you. You fuck with everybody. So it's like, that's why it's like, I'll always take it. I don't ever feel bad for fucking with you or anybody else. Because I'm like, dude, you have burnt. You have set this up. It's not our first rodeo.
00:57:46Anyway. Yeah. You got a joke for us? Well, hold on. He can't do that yet. He can do it. Give me that dad joke! Now. That is so good. And I love that we had that at the live, too. Yes. Thank you for doing that. Putting it together on the last... So, I have two because I couldn't decide today. All right. Oh. Two's better than one. Especially with pictures of shit for Shaun. One of them's not really... You don't get a chance to respond, so that's the other reason I did two. Oh, okay. Well, it doesn't matter. I don't get them ever anyway now. I told my wife she was drawing her eyebrows too high. She looked surprised.
00:58:27I was going to say. I felt like I could have gotten that one. She looked shocked. That's a good one. What's the best thing about Switzerland? The women? The cheese. Hold on. The chocolates.
00:58:47I don't know. I was thinking like there's holes in there. I don't fucking know. I don't know, but the flag is a big plus. I think I've even heard that one before. Like now that I hear it, like a long, long time ago, which makes me mad because I should have fucking got there. Oh, the Swiss. They do have great women and chocolate and cheese. I don't even. Yeah, I wouldn't know. Never been there. Me neither, but I've seen the women. they're nice i've had the chocolate yeah isn't that where swiss cheese is from switzerland i'm just making that up i think pretty sure forget i said that i don't think i think that's completely wrong i don't know why my mind went there but so let's forget that happened all right i think it's time to take this baby to the patreon so with that being said uh check out our website we're still cool right.com and uh make it a place hopefully that you keep going back to because we're going to put stuff on there every week here for it.
00:59:45So I'm trying to share what we do and we need better pictures. So when you go to it, Oh yeah. We didn't even have any pictures of the three of us. We'll talk about the live a little bit more and talk about pictures, but yeah, but we're we do have pictures from events we've done a lot like the past bar games, all that kind of stuff. So maybe we'll add a picture section and just like we could get pictures in there and load it up. Yeah. I was actually going to bring that up. We're going to have a meeting soon. And I was going to mention that because I actually have you guys in a section of our new 2027 promotional booklet for upload and you're the only ones that don't have a good photo. A section?
01:00:20Yeah, for our new incubator program. Oh, that's right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're saying our picture is not good? No, your picture sucks. It's terrible. It's really terrible. And you're bad. And I'm embarrassed. Ouch. Jesus. It's like my childhood all over again. Thanks, Dad. You're welcome, son. He would never say this. He'd be like, don't talk to me. On that note, let's just end this thing. Right, there's no good out from here. It is, uh, see you later. Love you guys. See ya. Love you guys. Bye.
