I'm on a boat motherfucker.
00:00:22
It's because I missed you, but I just thought how you've been on a boat, and you weren't here with us, and it's all about to pop to my head. Took me a little bit like I was getting sea legs Like I've been doing this too much here even Cooper goes I think it's time we need to go home I didn't realize that was a thing until I was on like a boat like all day on rough water It's like holy shit. I just fell over And you also sprinkled some drinking I don't know that helps But yeah, I mean I went on a cruise once and by the last day I was like getting see I didn't think seasick would be a thing like for me but the last day I saw these giant speakers swing and I was like, Oh, something's not good here.
00:01:01
And I slept for like 18 straight hours. That's a good, yeah. All right. Well, Hey, we're back again. Another week. And we're, we, we got, uh, the OG back in the house. I made it back. You did. I appreciated the love. We didn't lose you to the seas. No, no, like I didn't really want to come home, but you know, that's also very fair. So again, um, welcome back to the, we're still cool, right? Podcast. Um, for those of you guys listening, or general listen every week and follow have your drink get it ready um and enjoy it welcome to the party right for the new people welcome to the party um check us out on social medias and you'll figure out what our drink is so we're still cool right at gmail.com you got it that's it and you are i'm sean that's right seductive sean and i'm still moist mike I like seductive Shaun.
00:01:53
That's better than whatever the fuck I had before. I think we said slippery or something. Yeah, they just kind of slipped out. A little slippery rascal. I'm glad we're getting closer to that intro, because damn, I'm just like stumbling over this thing the whole time, so this is not my go-to. Oh, it's fine. It keeps them on their toes. We'll probably still have to say our names, you know? Which seems to be the hardest part. I gotta think of something other than moist. Oh, it's rough out here. Well, we got it sounds like we got a special drink here for yeah So so we got a guest here to bring in some drinks. It looks good. I don't know what the fuck it is, but we're gonna hear the whole details on it and It kind of looks like I don't know Mango mango foam. Oh Jesus Holy cow, holy batman jesus christ we were being spoiled today thank you guys thank you so our uh friends jody and julie were just here and jody made us a drink for the well shot for the week and it came with a garnish of what of pumpkin pie yeah what did she said that the shot was called a smash pumpkin is that what she's smashing pumpkin you're you're rethinking the uh whole mango thing aren't you Yeah, yeah, yeah, so just to be clear we go from no garnish minute to a fucking piece of pie Yeah Okay, so the fat boy me is so
00:03:27
Alright so Jody gave me the ingredients here We don't have race shows necessarily, but it's in a nice little jug over here We were all thinking mango or something along those lines, but yeah, it is called smashing pumpkins orange juice, Jaeger, cherry pucker, and a pinch of pumpkin spice. That's funny because that does not sound good together. But I'm guessing it is. Because it makes sense. It's more of those ones that's going to sound disgusting and actually works. Get this on the camera. This is honestly, that's the garnish. That's quite the garnish. That's our garnishes to shame. It's like a fucked up Bloody Mary.
00:04:07
So are we officially out of control with our garnishes with this? It's as good as it gets here. Next, we need to get in the whole fried chicken on the side. Not to mention that. Stuff like that. Pumpkin pie. I don't know that I've ever had it in the summer. I don't think I have either. But you know what? I'm okay with it. I'm excited for it. I love it. Excited for all this stuff. So let's give it a shot. Cheers. Cheers, boys. Cheers. Cheers, everybody at home.
00:04:31
It works. Holy shit. Wow. That's good. Dude, that's legit. I thought I would taste Jaeger at least a little bit. I don't taste any Jaeger. I don't at all. I can definitely taste. I can, because I know it's there maybe, but yeah. Yeah, there's no way I would have guessed that if I didn't know. I definitely taste the orange juice. Orange juice and the cherry, did you say cherry pucker? Yeah. Okay. I can kind of taste those. Yeah, maybe we should have followed up immediately with a bite. By the way, before I take this bite, how do you guys eat your pumpkin pie? Like I normally, basically you don't see the pie. I have that much whipped cream on it. Yeah. I eat a crust first.
00:05:06
Really? No. Fucking air so he's eating it from the back That is good. We didn't ask her if she made that that's delicious. Yeah, huh? I'm guessing she did damn. Thank you Jody That's fucking really good. She's trying to like win her way to That's the place that we're picking her for like I mean. Yeah, that was pretty good Yeah, cuz that's that's coming a long way here Hey, I'm trying to swallow a bit. Let's pass a second Tanner over here. Let's get one of those seconds. Who's ready here for it? This is the gift that keeps on giving. Usually we have a shot, we have one shot. But we've got a jug of shots.
00:05:46
We did talk about on one of them having a jug just at the ready. And depending on how much you see it go down, it's probably how good it is. So I'm guessing you're going to see a lot of this jug disappear on this episode here. Yeah. But yeah, we had a couple people in here. Jody was one of them doing a couple recordings for us and more coming on that in the next week or two. Some promos and intros for us. I'd throw this to you, but I don't want to tell him. That's all good. Yeah. We need to get a pulley system so we can just send it over to him. Or we could pay a midget to just run errands for us all day.
00:06:20
All right, one more just for... Since we missed each other. Well, yeah. You were going for a whole episode, buddy. Cheers. That is good. That is really tasty. I do think that the pinch of pumpkin pie spice definitely helps. I'm sure. That's just really good. That's really good. Man, I would have not bet on that being good. All right. We're going to have to definitely get that one together and share it out. So yeah, I think we're, our goal is to start sharing our drinks out on social media so you guys can see them and then have it with us. So you can see it ahead of time. We had some, some listeners share that and that would like to do it.
00:06:57
And we all kind of looked at each other and went, what the hell? Why didn't we do that? Yeah. Yeah, so I think we're new to this or something. We don't know what we're doing. Winging it. This is called winging it. This is 100% of what we're doing. Only took us 24 episodes to figure it out.
00:07:12
Just in time for season two. So how was your guys' weekend? Well, Shaun, you've been gone for a while. I mean, it feels like now to think about it. I had been last week with it being dead week with sports where the kids can, you know, they get a little break. yeah um we decided yeah we went down to the ozarks we're down there for the whole week it was fun we had so it was my cousin ben was down there the first time so remote producer ben shout out to him he was there then we came back and then his parents were supposed to come down but they ended up having something go on where they couldn't make it oh man but then katon came down um and kind of ended the weekend so um you know after kind of partying all week we had other friends that were down there uh that we tie up with all the time and they they were down there for most of the week and some of their families so it was it was a good time weather was nice it was unbelievably hot well because i was just gonna say i was looking at the weather for next weekend for reasons and it's like 95 every day and just pure sun yeah um it was bad but it had been warm for a while so like it was even like you got in the water and it was like like it wasn't even so the first few days were a little rough but i mean still yeah fine and then also a storm yeah and then it cooled down then it was like 70 and all of a sudden one morning he was like open the windows you know and just sit there and enjoy it it was like almost chilly a little bit took the kids tubing and they're like we're going out and i'm like man it's gonna be a little chilly there it's gonna be cold but the water is still warm so then they got in that's awesome you
00:08:44
Kids are bulletproof when it comes down to that stuff so they really are. I don't know how they do that Yeah, it's fun. I just are having fun And so they don't care you know, but even like I mean your son I've when you guys like open the pool. Yeah, and it's like ice and he's done it every year Yeah, and like you little psycho. How are you doing that man? I think if he gets older he gets a little Yeah, I don't get like I'm sweating my ass off right now in this room. It's like 73 three or something. But if I was, it was 73 and I get out of the pool, I'm going to be chilly. Right. It makes no sense at all. Get that little wind gust on you, but no, it was good. And so the fun part about being down there throughout the week is then you can actually go out and tube. You know what I mean? You do that kind of stuff because when we're normally down there on the weekend, it's so busy. You can just where we're at, it's where there's just no real great spot or it's pretty busy and lots of big boats. So it's just not, it's just too dangerous.
00:09:38
I just won't do it. I just don't, you know. Better safe than sorry. Yeah, yeah. I'd rather be called boring than lose a kid. So, you know what I mean? That's fair. So that's the... So the first time I ever went down there, I, you know, I've driven a boat before, but not a ton in my life and like not even a quarter as much as you have. And the first time we went down there before you guys hit your place, I rented a boat for us and all the friends that went. And I'm driving, I'm like, man, people are psychotic down here. Like the way they were driving. And I'm like, it's not like driving here in iowa on the water you know what i mean it's like holy shit you really got to pay attention well the boats down there are just so big yeah that all of a sudden you get these huge walls of water and you got to really pay attention here for it but then you go during the week and it's no big deal we'd cruise all over the place so yeah right because it was like the weekends is when you know they just there's everyone down there and and yeah i mean they're just there's some massive boats out there that are just they're freaking ocean boats you know what i mean yeah have them down there and it's they're huge cruisers and looks like we went to when we went to teddy swims in chicago we saw those almost like mini yachts it looked like from where we were pulling up and listening those are down there all day long yeah same boat so i mean so but it's yeah i still like you still have a blast you know you just kind of figure out your path yeah we just don't spend much time in the main channel and then we just don't go as far and cove out for different things and so yeah yeah we found a new cove this weekend too so um kind of excited about that was it like a busy one or like you kind of found like a honey hole
00:11:08
where no i mean there was definitely boats in there which so there's lots there's still lots to see or whatever you know like the entertainment yeah people being jackasses that is good and potential for a top to come off or something you know who needs vegas um but it's actually just closer to our place and so kind of a new place to tie up so it was pretty cool so shout out to jim he's my neighbor who has been down there for years so it's nice when i get to go with him or you know because he kind of shows me around because there's still so many places that clearly i don't know i had a curiosity is he going down this next weekend he is oh yeah so we'll see him that's fantastic yeah i forgot i do have one more little surprise for us that was given us by someone we are really truly being spoiled today uh we had talked about candy bars and like our favorites and stuff like that and matt had messaged and said a lion bar is great and we all were like what the fuck is that yeah uh hold on one sec so he's got a friend so there's there i guess there's two kinds it's from nestle but i've i've you ever seen one of these in your life i've never heard of it no lion bar never seen so this one's lion white and i guess you can't buy them in a man here so he has a friend who orders them online and like it's all in dutch on the back because but he's like this is the best one so he got one for all of us i don't want to eat a whole one so but you guys will have to try it and let's see if i can throw this to I cannot hit me. Oh That's quite the ballsy throw because all that stuff around it is But I saw my shot I took it so
00:12:39
But yeah, so before the episodes over you guys have to try it and tell us what you think and I'll have to yeah Let's say I have never seen this before and just isn't that weird. It's from Nestle Like I think we would have seen that somewhere, but I've he handed me I'm like I've definitely never seen this before but I mean when did you first see like the kinder chocolates like They haven't been in America forever, but those No, probably like at least six Seven years maybe. Since my kids Yeah I feel like they were never around when I was a kid, but then all of a sudden My kids were like, I want a kinder jewelry or whatever And I'm like, what the hell are you talking about?
00:13:10
There's a toy in it, and you're opening it's like, not really It's like a piece of paper usually or whatever But I didn't, I saw those when I was In the Netherlands for work, like so Oh really? Yeah, that's how I knew about Kinder before they came here, but then they Like, it got popular here too Well then I'm kind of shocked you haven't seen this one over there I didn't go like Can you see this here is because when we When we would drove down the Ozarks were listening our episode where we did and we talked about the candy bars And then we're at the store and I went through the candy bar Like what did I forget I'm gonna find I still felt good about it when I walked away. I'm like alright. I feel feel good about my So I was Yeah, I feel yeah. Well shout out to Matt though. Thanks for hooking us up as usual brother. We appreciate it. Yeah, thanks, buddy I saw him yesterday actually went did did it at barbing go again. He didn't win a goddamn thing So much last time I know there was literally a couple like a couple people there and they were like you better not win this I'm telling you guys it was luck and I didn't win shit So did she like can't do this specific card when you walked in like this is yours This is a piece of shit. This is for you. No, no, she didn't or he did it was a guy this time But it was fun though. Yeah, well, I'm just feeling so Wonderful with all these gifts that people I know you're like so thank you. Yeah, thank you. I really appreciate it Awesome, even if it's just add to our waistline I think we got do you want to go to that email? Yeah, you're right. No, no, no, hold on You guys all weekend stuff when we talked about mine, which is really all I care about
00:14:40
about you know, we saw Shaun zoning out going, ah, fuck those guys. Sugar calling here. So come on. No, it's fine. Um, yeah, I mean, uh, I guess it's been kind of a while since we talked cause we, you know, we had a kind of off episode where we went down a fun rabbit hole last week, but, uh, lately for me, I mean, I, we did do a big race that is every year in Davenport called the Bix. It's like a seven mile race. Now, if you've heard any of the podcasts this year, you know what is happening to my summer, which is everything is fucking canceled or ruined because of rain. Sure as shit. We wake up that morning there in Davenport and it's fucking storming and like the eye of the storm is right over us. I thought they were going to cancel it. I mean, it was bad and they delayed it by a couple hours, but this is like, I mean, thousands and thousands of people. Oh yeah, it's a big deal. People come from Kenya to write like a prequalifier for the Boston Marathon and which is so defeating When you hit mile two and they're coming back from the seven You're like what the fuck?
00:15:40
Wait, I gotta give a shout out to Kara for her text Erik, are you anywhere around here? Yeah, that's true I wasn't there and it wasn't raining where I was Because we've established Erik's the reason why all the air follows him around Yeah, Erik's just doing rain dancing where he goes and fucking everyone's day over Erik, are you anywhere around and if you are, get the fuck out of here Yeah, that's the first thing she said She's like, is Erik fucking here? I'm like, actually, he is out of town Maybe I don't know So I think he figured out it's either Carol or I which sucks. Oh But yeah, so they have a two-mile option and because it was pouring we didn't do the seven We just did the two because it sucked. I mean it was it felt like Teddy swims It wasn't that bad, but you were still completely soaked at the end. So it was my run and choose it or that's gonna be even Yeah, dude, not actually running. Yes, but then we went out. We had a big group of us our friends Holly and Jay live down there, so it was like them and Jody Nathan and us and And so it was fun, though.
00:16:36
We hit up some breweries. I met an awesome bartender at Bent River. Shout out to Chrissy. We were kind of bullshitting about. Yes, Chrissy. And we were kind of bullshitting about podcasting and stuff like that, because I think Kara said something about it. And this lady was saying she wanted to start one. I'm like, dude, you're in the service industry. Do it. Just do it. And I believe she said something like, yeah, my friend and I have talked about it for years and she's a stripper. I was like, you really need to start a podcast. My comment was, come on our podcast. I was like, text me when you make it.
00:17:05
I want to listen to this. And then she goes, yeah, my daytime job. I work for the government. I'm like, God damn. Like, what else do you like? Yeah, do you like lasso cheetahs in your spare time on top of it? So, but shout out to her. It was a good time there. And the funniest part was we're chilling there and at that river. And I go into the bathroom and all the urinals are taking this one stall. And I'm like, all right, well, I got to piss. I'm going to the bathroom at night. This little kid walks in and I just hear him go, come on, man. I got to poo poo. Hey, that's a fair thing. No it is And I get it And I think he like it one of those things where I pretty sure he meant to say it in his head and just came out because he seemed shocked that he said it and me and the other guys start laughing like dude I hurrying I promise and his dad starts cracking all fucking hysterical It one of those things I wish could have been recorded Right, shout out to that kid. Yeah, come on man. I got a poop. We got a shit. You got a shit though, man I get it So it was fun, but yeah I mean a lot of stuff we just we hit up a lot of breweries did that kind of stuff I did get to give someone their first shot of Malort our friend Holly her mom Had never had it was scared do it said she wouldn't do it But then her son goes she's too nice to turn it down if you buy it just buy it I'm like, okay, so I bar shut she goes She took it because it's not that bad. So I give up like I fucking quit I don't know I know anybody that's given it to more people than you so because it back in the day when we used to go to like beer releases and stuff like that it was a thing where
00:18:35
someone would go up to the line and like filming and seeing people's reactions and half the time at least usually more than that people would start gagging they're like why the fuck would you make me drink that but apparently when i give it to him it tastes like lilacs and lilies so nice on there yeah you have like a malarita or something like a margarita made with malar I did so this and this was only because of, you know, we were on that. This is Clint's fault. Okay. That was, you know, our buddy that was on the podcast. He went down there and said, you got to go to low pies. They have a malort margarita. And I was like, that doesn't sound very good. And he's like, you got to try it. And he's like, it's not that bad. I'm like, all right, by the way, the pizza is phenomenal. So let me say that. And then I found out later it's owned by some professional wrestler. It's like his family that owns this place. I was wondering why there wrestling shit everywhere i'll have to google that and find out but um yeah malort margarita they had tahini around the rim i learned if you just take a big lick of that and then drink it it wasn't that bad but the guy that poured it at the at the place was so funny because he's like a lot of people don't like these man he's like so if you drink it down a little and it's like unbearable like let me know and i'll make it tastier to top it off and make it feel better and i was like no i'm not no i'll drink it so it's like but nathan had one and nathan like took He took a big, so he looks at me and goes, why are we doing this?
00:19:53
This is terrible. He looked genuinely mad. We're paying money for this. Yeah, this wasn't free. Why are we doing this? So it was pretty funny. It wasn't bad. It was, you know what I always say, do it for the experience. It's always good for a story. So there you go. Shout out to Clint. So yeah, that's pretty much for the most part, kind of what I did the last couple of weeks. There's some other stuff, but that's the main stuff. Kind of excited to hear what Erik's weekend was like. Yeah, I think he had a long weekend. I think he's still a little under the weather. Well, you know, when we get to this age, the hangover sometimes last two days instead of unfortunately, you're right.
00:20:30
I had a three day bachelor party camping and fucking riding bikes and shooting guns and all kinds of fun stuff. We were supposed to go kayaking, but the river is flooded and the campgrounds flooded. So we didn't get to do that. But yeah, so my buddy Dylan, so we had Dylan Palooza. Um, they even made a giant fucking sign and put it out by the road. It looked like a big music festival when you pulled up. Oh my God. How many dudes were at this thing? Uh, shit. I'd have to look probably 30, 30 plus. That's awesome. And it was just all of us camping and hanging out. And then we rode the two miles into town to the bar. Did you know that the bar in bell planes called the office? So, okay. We spent the day in the office, but I went in and Davenport has an office. We go there every time I went there this way. They're known for egg rolls.
00:21:21
They have like 40 different kinds. That's crazy. The famous egg roll argument. Yeah, we're going to pass on a girl fight that happened, but we're going to gloss over that. But yeah, the office is just a, it's barely wide enough for somebody to walk between the bar and the wall. And really, we filled the whole bar. I got to ask, did they have any heads up that you guys were coming in? I don't think so. Oh, God, because it's rough. Like, when you're a dive barn, there's one person working, and then 40 people walk in. We made it really good, though, because, like, we just, like, I don't know, several of us just threw money up there, so it was, like, everybody's just on one tab.
00:21:58
Oh, you can drink. Yeah, yeah. That's the smart way. Tell us when the money starts to run out. We'll give you more. Yeah, and beers at those places are usually, like, three bucks anyway, so. I could not believe how long, like, a couple hundred dollars lasted there. Oh, yeah. Yeah. The good old days. That's awesome. Yeah. Those are the best, though. Yeah. That's by far the best. Well, and then we're sitting there like we've been in there for several hours and One of the local guys that was in there his wife brought in sandwiches and cupcakes for us That's like What's going to eat? Actually like ate food and Someone get these boys some food I just imagine this old lady's the one bar like her husband's bartending. She walks in check. You haven't fed these boys And she's just like I'm gonna go make some sandwiches Make some sandwiches Yes Oh my god They don't get more Midwest than that That's as good as it gets right there again that's that's why there's the term iowa nice so for sure we'll feed you all town bar and oh for that that hits for everything there well we've talked about our love for dive bars and need i mean that's just another part of it sure no no they didn't have one at least i didn't see him so yeah but it was a good time we had a we had a blast and rode the two miles back actually there's a pavilion in between so we rode like a mile and stopped at a pavilion and drank more and Then run another mile to the camp. I mean you got every fuel every mile Everybody there does rag brides so they're like yeah, this is pretty rough day It was not bike like You know or was that part of the weekend was like everyone bring your bikes. Yes, and once the Once the kayaking got canceled that he said bring your bikes
00:23:34
Comes up he's like I brought my ATV fuck you guys There was there was one guy that so what the guy that his wife brought the food in He had a golf cart and one of the guys threw his bike on the back of the golf cart There it is I see I knew it was coming. I'm like He's always a smart guy in the group. Exactly. You always need one Flat tire don't worry boys. I got you. Gotcha. Yeah. No here's a road beer Well, that's awesome and shooting guns. I mean that really does sound like a awesome weekend I got to shoot like an MP5 style, like nine millimeter gun. It was awesome. Yeah. That's awesome. We called it the diehard gun.
00:24:14
Did you slide into broken glass while shooting? It's like yippee-ki-yay, motherfucker. It was a good time. That's awesome. That was fun. I shot a 50 cal once at a, like a, there was a salute to the fallen foundation gun sheet. And there was like a competition. Me and my cousin did it. And holy fuck. like you know it's going to be like a big boom and like it's going to kick back but you literally you're laying prone and like you're gripping your bicep just to hold on and there's a guy behind you even kind of holding you like the instructor and you still shoot back like six inches when you shoot it you're like how the fuck do people do this like yeah so you know so you know the break on those like it goes out at like 45 yeah so it's not even the pressure isn't even like directly back I mean, there is pressure back, but like the sides, the sides, uh, I have two funny stories about those.
00:25:06
My dad shot one and he was laying next to his vehicle and it knocked the mirror out of his windshield because he didn't, he didn't think about it. Yeah. And then another one, this guy, he was lined up at a range and they were shooting the 50 cal and letting kids shoot it and stuff. And some guy comes and sits at the bench next to him. He goes, you don't want to do that. And the guy's like, I can sit where I want. and he sets up all of his rounds and stuff and they go flying off the table. You did that to yourself, moron. That's hilarious. Some people just deserve what they get. I know. They really do.
00:25:38
Well, shit, that sounds like a good weekend. Some of those weekends are worth being like, eh, Monday's not going to feel great either, but it's fine. Sometimes you're too deep. You just got to lean into it and worry about it. That's Monday's problem. It's true. Yeah. Yeah, so we did have one email that we should probably get out of the way here. If I can find it here. Because I read the one from Adam last time, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So this one is from our buddy, John, who we had on. And he had the great stories from living in St. Louis and working for the airlines. And we did say a story where we was like, I hope all those are real or something like that.
00:26:17
And he said, hey, Moist Mike. Okay. My stories were real. He said, I'm not sure I'm creative enough to come up with stuff like that. He said I fell behind a few episodes, but I want you to let you know. All I'm enjoy suck. And he says the worst candy bars Butterfinger. I mean, I don't hate Butterfinger. I love it. Like, yeah, that's kind of one of those that just flies right in the middle. Yeah, I do. I don't I don't like picking it out of my teeth. Yeah, it's like, you know, that's the problem. I like it. I like the flavor. I don't want to pick it out of my teeth. Yeah, it turns hard as a rock.
00:26:47
Like, yeah, he said my favorite is Snickers are good old Hershey bar with or without almonds question for you guys. When pumping gas, do you stand and wait or get back into your car? I do not understand people getting back in their car. Can you not stand for a few minutes? Do a walk around your vehicle, stretch, get some fresh air. Can you guess which one I do? Like, yeah, I'm guessing he walks around a little bit. I would say it depends on the freaking temperature outside. I was going to, I can't remember the last time I got back in my car, but I'm sure I've done it. Like if it's that bad, like when we had the polar vortex, it's negative 20 or whatever.
00:27:20
But otherwise, I do see people do it in the summer, though, and I'm like, it's warm, but you're only going to be out there for two minutes, man. You'll be fine. Clean off the windshield, have a look around. Yeah. Throw away your trash. Get over it. He said, it was great to hear Adam on the pod. To be honest, I really had no clue what the hell you guys were talking about as I've never seen a Marvel movie. If I had to pick one for a Marvel virgin to watch, what would it be? That's a good question. It's kind of hard because you can't watch. I mean, you can watch ones without seeing other ones, but they might not make as much sense.
00:27:51
I mean, probably Iron Man 1. I think so, too. And thinking of John, like, you know, a lot of adults don't want to watch like a spacey type theme thing. So, yeah, I think Iron Man 1 would definitely be it. That's fun for everyone. It's just an action movie. Yeah, otherwise, Guardians of the Galaxy, I mean, has the spacey stuff, but the soundtrack's amazing and everybody would love it. The soundtrack is amazing. It's all old music, you know, 70s and 80s. So... Nerds! Nerds! You're just jealous you were here to talk about it, weren't you? Oh man, I was listening to it and I'm like, fucking nerds. The coolest way to answer the question of We're Still Cool, right, is to have a nerd podcast.
00:28:32
Hey, fuck you, it's cool now, okay? This is like when we were in high school. It was actually good when I was listening to you guys, but you guys went down to a place where I'm like, I don't even know what they're fucking talking about. And a few other people said to me, I don't even know what they're talking about. like my friends are like i'm in the marvels and i don't know what they're talking about and i was like remember these guys have seen every show everything like that and they're like oh i haven't even done the show i'm kind of like this because i like i'm like oh i feel like we're nerdy enough i felt like we didn't even go that deep like you know we it could have got even worse i think with theories and stuff like that and we didn't talk a lot on comics either so like yeah yeah there is some yeah so for all of you calling us like the last like 20 minutes i'm like you're right i don't I don't even know who these characters are.
00:29:15
Wait, us are the movies. Like, I thought I knew these guys. I'm with them every week. Who are these people? Yeah. A bunch of virgins talking on there. Living in their mom's basement. So the last part he said here, what are your guys' favorite old movies? Let's say 1970s and before. Some classics I always like were the Dirty Dozen, Kelly's Heroes, The Great Escape, and Cool Hand Luke. Keep up the great podcasting. I don't know. I mean, I'm sure. These are a little deep for me. I was going to say. that's a little sorry john not to like date you or anyone else but i just i don't know like yeah 80s i have to even think about like well you know the 80s was easier but sure you know you were born what 71 or no is that wrong i can't remember sorry i'm not good at math is that right is that wrong oh 79 my bad i was close enough i thought you were pushing 60. i don't know i'm such an i missed you buddy i couldn't help it i haven't called you old in two weeks you were new yeah i i just i mean i was born in 83 so it's like i don't part of my problem too is i could start naming movies and they're probably in early 80s you know like i'm gonna do that and they're they're not in the 70s oh i will say i i mean because i love horror movies so i went back and watched so many of them like i'm pretty sure the exorcist was the 70s and i loved that movie when i was young which is actually probably weird to say um so like yeah i guess a lot of maybe horror movies and stuff like that but i can't even think i know some of the people that were in i'm like like he mentioned cool hand Luke and I think I have seen that was that Paul Newman. Maybe I'm
00:30:46
thinking it was someone else. Obviously there's like Clint Eastwood and what do you read like the top 10 movies of the 70s? Cool hand Luke was Paul Newman. It was 1967. Okay. Damn I got one. Oh I've seen a 60s movie. Paul Newman was huge. I'm trying to think of who else there was. Oh Jaws. Grease. Jaws was in the 70s? Grease is what I was thinking of, but it was mainly like, it's not even my favorite movie, but I just knew that it was 70s. The Godfather. Oh, yeah. Shaft.
00:31:22
He's a bad motherfucker. Monty Python. And the Holy Grail? Yeah. So I have since. Animal House. Animal House. That's a great one.
00:31:35
Carrie. I do like that. I never saw the remake of that. Young Frankenstein? Did not see that. Superfly. Star Wars. Saturday Night Fever. I've never seen Star Wars. Godfather 2. The Godfathers makes sense. Here's a hidden gem. The Bad News Bears. I never saw that. That's a baseball movie, right? I never saw that. That's a good question. My kind of memory of movies starts in the 80s. you know, Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I think though you'd be surprised. Like Mike, if you look at the same list, like he's looking at Rocky. Oh shit. There's going to be a lot more on here than you realize. And you're just not sure that they're seventies. Yeah.
00:32:21
Because if you think about it, I mean, it's 2025. So like in the eighties, like let's say when I was, you know, eight, nine years old, it wasn't weird to watch a movie that was 10 years old. You know what I mean? I watched stuff from the two thousands to all the goddamn time. So Halloween, you're like scary movies. That was seventies. yeah by the way i remember everyone saying how many are there now so well yeah you know it's so funny watching that movie because it genuinely terrified everyone same with like psycho if you watch that now i know he said that and i was like i've never seen star wars but like halloween scared the shit out of people and i watched it again a few years ago and it is like the most boring not scary thing ever because then it was like so it was suspense that scared people because they didn't show gore and like yeah so just him like creeping around was scary yeah yeah and they were really good with the creepy ass sounds so there's some i don't know my favorite one was out of there but there were some good ones that i didn't realize so yeah some bangers in the 70s betcha definitely yeah so yeah that's the only email if anyone has anything uh email us you know what it is we're still cool right at gmail.com we love reading them so uh hit us up we do yeah so um benjo sent us remote producer remote producer benjo sent us a text um which sounds this is i thought it was a good one um would you rather have a chef cook every dinner for you a driver that drives you everywhere a daily made a private jet or private jet access and then he said like
00:33:55
or anything other is there anything else you know i mean maybe i got there but just out of those four so we have private chef a driver a daily maid or have a have access to a private jet i'm thinking like right now so like if we're talking right now this day in our life with our jobs our families everything i think i'd have to pick the chef now while a jet sounds badass i still have to work all the time so it's like if there's really not a point if i i'd love to just pop off to paris for fun but sure um yeah i think the chef you just man cooking dinner and cooking and cleaning up after it sucks. Right.
00:34:30
Yeah. Having to come up with something every year. Like that's the shitty part. Every week. It's probably my least favorite thing to do is come up with like meals for the week. I fucking hate doing it. I hate it. So yeah, we've talked about that before. Yeah. I've told Aaron like anytime like I don't mind cooking. If you come up with the idea just like here send me the recipe I'll fucking do it. But it's finding something that everyone will like on top of it which we've talked about that drives me nuts. That's going to take fucking forever. But I would say the private jet would be close second.
00:35:02
I think so. I don't know. I'm it's I'm it's kind of a coin flip for me because like also with a private jet, you could just fucking go have some pizza in Italy if you want. And that's I guess what I'm saying, like if it was today now, if it's if this was, you know, 20 years on the road and I'm retired, hopefully it's like absolutely it's the jet all day long. So if you to get to know remote producer Benjo better here he said he take the driver all day long Really No Ben drives for his job Like he travels a lot He's a salesman, so he travels a ton. So I can see where someone makes him who's in a lot of his territories around him.
00:35:35
So he drives, you know, like long day drives or whatever. So I can see where he. Well, and if you're living in a city where traffic sucks and shit like that, I can see it more too. Yeah, like if you made me drive around like Atlanta for a job, I would fucking. Chicago. yeah i don't know atlanta i mean the busiest cities i've driven in or around was probably chicago georgia or atlanta and houston and i think atlanta was by far the worst that's what i hear it's fucking terrible like people will go an hour out of the way to not have to do it yeah so that's a big thing everyone's always timing like when you drive down to florida yeah i mean that's That's what happened to us.
00:36:14
Yep. I mean, even Nashville, like I thought would be bad. It's fucking nothing. Nashville is not that bad. No, it wasn't bad at all. So I would definitely, I don't need the Daily Made. I don't know. That's not going to do anything. It's tempting. I hate cleaning too, but it's not as necessary as cooking. Right.
00:36:31
I think I'm with you. I got to go with the chef. Yeah. Because it would just be so nice to not, you know, and if it's a chef, you're going to have good shit. Right. You never have to think about a thing. Never have to think about it. or then if you do think of something you want, like, no problem. Yeah. Snap your fingers, say, Jeffrey. Put a snack in my belly. Oh, so your chef's name, Jeffrey? Jeffrey? You know, I kind of just thought Fresh Prince, so. Ah.
00:36:57
What up, Jay? What up, Jay? Yeah. Let's be honest. The best part of that show was always jazz getting thrown out of the house. Can we hear? The funniest thing I heard the other day was, who watching that show would have thought that someday jazz would have been the most popular person? No shit, right? somebody drops off i was like oh that's pretty good yeah but i loved that show like so much there's an episode where carlton like i don't know he's sad about something or they break some bad news to him and i it's not funny to hear but if you watch it i just i uncontrolled i laughed for like an hour straight he like drops to the floor and starts crawling around but at a ridiculous pace and he's just like flying through the house on the floor and i don't even know how the guy did it Yeah, yeah.
00:37:38
It was that one. I can't remember what it was. But oh my God, it was fucking hilarious. That was pretty good. I love that show. Yeah. His dancing can beat it. Oh, man. Yeah. There's a re-carlton. Yeah. It was so good. That's one way to know, you know, an age group. If you say the carlton and someone's like, I have no idea what this is. Get the fuck out of my house. Get out of here. You're clearly not cool. Get on the dance floor and start pulling it out. They're like, what are you doing? Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun. All right. Ah, it's not unusual. That's a. Paul. No, I was a Paul Newman. That's who we were just talking about.
00:38:10
I play that song on touch tunes all the time to drive a friend of ours crazy. And I can't think of who it is now. He's got a couple songs. Tom Jones. There it is. Tom Jones. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. Oh, and he's got what's new pussycat.
00:38:27
Yeah. So that's some good ones. So yeah, so that's where I land. God, we could do a whole episode. I just realized this on like 90 sitcoms. Like, remember when like TGIF was a thing. And like, it was like you waited for that night. Yeah. Oh man, that was great. We would all, yeah. Big time. I know. We'll have to do that sometime. Yeah. Like home improvement. I love that show. I know. And now it's crazy. So the Brad, he was the oldest. Yeah. He's been like, he keeps going to prison for stupid shit. So much trouble. And then the popular one, JTT, every girl our age had his pictures all over the wall.
00:39:05
because they were obsessed with him he like just quit acting like 30 years ago yeah and no one has basically seen him since and i wonder what he's up to yeah i mean tim allen kept doing shit obviously but i can't say i saw anyone else from who uh al borland he was in some like game shows or something yeah he came up with the host of i don't know i know i can i can see him on it i can't Was it Family Feud? I think it might have been. No. No, because that's Steve Harvey. Well, but they've had multiple hosts. That's true. Yeah, because I do feel like it was Family Feud. I'm your man, Steve Harvey.
00:39:41
We were watching that. We were watching that this weekend. That's another thing I love is old game shows. If you turn on the Game Show Network and the old show Press Your Luck is on, I'm not turning it. No, wait. Stop. It's so good. Did you ever hear the story of the guy that beat it? No. He spent fucking... he recorded hours and hours and hours of it so he'd know when it would well yeah and he like slowed it down and started writing down the calculations of what it would hit goes on the show the show went like four hours long because he wouldn't hit away me and so he walked with all this money and then they had to change their whole system so that would never happen again i was like you fucking sly dog you that's all right i know there was also a guy who did that on uh come on down price is right he uh he learned the prices of every single thing they had on there so when they they had to guess the price he knew everything so it's not family feud it was they've had multiple hosts for it so i was like louie after louie anderson louie anderson did it yeah louie anderson did it for a little bit 2001 louie and louie anderson left and richard karn who's al borland that's right old richard karn did it from 2002 to 2006 yeah okay so have you been watching do you watching you uh billy madison or happy gilmar 2 i did that's pretty good i liked it a lot of people are mad well if you watch like any of his if you watch it because you think you're gonna see some like groundbreaking groundbreaking then you just don't want like right go fuck yourself like you know it's yeah it's funny you know and playing off of it so um i thought it was fucking hilarious
00:41:18
i loved it i thought there was a couple parts that like were probably not as funny as they thought they were going to be yeah or maybe like a scene or two that just kind of seemed pointless but overall like i loved it i thought the dude that was in i see dead people what's his name the boy that seems like the the main hailey joe yeah yeah like making a comeback we don't see him i know they could just like you know how it's like his face never grew i don't know yeah i mean but um so many cameos though so many watching watching professional golfers like say some of the shit they did on there the best i i think my favorite part of the whole movie is and i'm not even like a giant golf fan but i know enough watching scheffler where the cops are walking because oh not again all right boys here i know the procedure yeah that was that was the best to me having john daly hang out with him all the time oh yeah pretty good um anyways somebody said who makes better movies adam sandler or will ferrell i know who i think it's i would say adam sandler if you look at their whole catalog also are you saying like because like just movies they've been in because like i don't know yeah i mean you know what i mean well i would say they got to be the star you know i mean like for sure yeah you know um because like even wedding crashers will ferrell has a small part but goddamn he steals the scene you know what i mean yeah so it was i was seeing if i say i'm pretty sure i saved it um of where it was because they they had a list of the movies they came out with
00:42:51
um trying to think like my favorite welfare movie of anything would probably be stepbrothers like i that i think is the funniest but oh no actually old school i think is even better i fucking loved old school yeah let's see you know and there's been some of his that i haven't seen because it just looked too terrible for me like that there was one on like ice skating oh yeah i didn't even see that one and i'm pretty confident i was of glory yeah i never i never saw that he just does such a he does such a great job of it um well for all feral because he just plays that raunchy badass god of course i didn't fucking save it there's also one of my favorite clips of all time this was god i don't know more than 10 years ago there's like an internet video that went around of Pearl, the landlord.
00:43:40
Yeah. Remember that? Yeah. I think that was his actual daughter. I thought someone said, but she went through a rough time. Yeah. She like this little girl knocks on the door and she's got like pearls on and stuff and she's supposed to be the landlord. And he's like, I don't have the rent. And all of a sudden, I can't remember what she said. She's like, you got to be out today. Yeah. But it's goddamn if anyone hasn't seen that, it's probably called the landlord. But yeah, we just type like Will Ferrell landlord and maybe Pearl and it should come up. It is so goddamn funny. All right. Well, I got to find that one and we that's i think that's a topic we could talk about in another one because it's surprising you know when you start going through you're like oh man you start lining up you're like well that's a fucking classic that's a fucking classic you know i mean you're kind of and there's going to be so many that you've seen that you just can't even think of because they click on there and you know they had some of these other ones where i'm like i didn't think that was that good but then yeah you know you start matching some of these up it was i think it was uh i think it's a topic we should read yeah we should put down with something that we come back for it. I like it. I bet there's a couple other ones like that that we could come up with too. Oh yeah, this first thing.
00:44:44
You know, following like when Vendor said that's one about the directors, if we did actor ones and then I don't know, line up. Nicolas Cage versus the world. I'm talking Nicolas Cage. For sure. And I heard he's going to come back and save us from the government, so I don't know. We'll see what happens. I heard they're making another National Treasure movie. Nice. I hope they do. I fucking love those movies. I feel like I've only seen the first one. No, I haven't. I've seen the second one. I don't think I've seen the third one. No, I think there's three. I haven't seen the third one. Yeah, I have, but not as many as the first two.
00:45:22
The guy that's in it's fucking hilarious. That is in. Like his buddy in it. Yeah, that is, you know, he's in. I know I can see him and stuff. Oh, oh my God. The Hangover. The Hangover, yeah. I just never used to that that great of a partner because he's No, I don't think I ever thought about the fact that that's him. It's That's his yeah, that holy shit. He's gonna get stuff from the roof. Yeah, he's fucking hilarious. I think he's hilarious a national treasure I think that Kind of yeah, I'm on that. You'd like me to it says Oh, I thought there was three. No, the third one is the way did they make a show or something? Yeah, there's a show that and I Didn't see that good. Okay. Yeah, but it wasn't Nicolas Cage. It was no. Yeah, that's why it wasn't good so okay then i've seen them all and i agree with you yeah it's fucking good yeah i did watch that brimsy the hangover one the other day again and it's it's still fucking amazing it's so goddamn good that part maybe i shouldn't say this on the podcast i don't know but goddamn when they pull up to get him and he's talking to his wife and they're like anyway i'll skip that one i'll keep it a little pc i guess but yeah it just goddamn it makes me ass every time. So yeah, uh, I was going to say one thing that I've talked about things about my kids that drive me fucking nuts. And there's been one that's been weighing on me and it just like, it's, I feel like now it's like sticking out to me every time, every time I go to brush my goddamn teeth, the fucking tube is squeezed right in the middle. Oh, they
00:46:55
don't start at the bottom. It drives me insane. And I'm like, you gotta fucking do it. I have to do it. I have to redo it every fucking time. And I'm like, why? I just don't understand. Maybe I did it as a kid too. I don't know. But I don't know what I feel like common sense. You just grab it from the end and squeeze. So you know what you should do? What? Just start grabbing it from the fucking top every time they get it. So then they have to push it up. That's true. You know what I might do? Maybe I'll just poke little tiny holes in it. So when they go to squeeze and just fucking shoots out all over them.
00:47:24
And you know what? They don't listen to the podcast. So they won't even know what's coming. I'm going to set up a hidden camera. There you go. It just, I'm like, what age do they stop doing that? I'm like, that should be one of the pre, like how you don't get to be technically an adult until you stop fucking doing that. It drives me nuts. I share one with my wife and she still does it. So are you serious? Aaron?
00:47:45
She's one of my favorite people. She's something nice. I don't know why. I don't know why it drives me so crazy. She fucking watched me today too, like smush it out to the top. They actually sell like little clips. Yeah, Ronnie. That's what's up. Maybe I'll do that. Are you going to roll it up there for it? Yeah. yeah and i'm gonna i'm put a lock on it i was literally oh my god i was just saying i'm like i'm gonna padlock that then they can't undo it yeah i don't know it's just like it i thought about it a couple weeks ago and now since i've thought about it every time i go in there i just get more and more mad because it's right back to right in the middle anyway little things i get fired yeah it's like i don't get mad easily but it's like it's these little things that sure eat away at me sure so you know what i'm gonna have another bite of pumpkin pie it's gonna make me calmer down a little bit my sugar my sugar is getting low guys i need a bite also pour me another shot no okay that's all we need yeah let's do that let's do it you know what we're celebrating um what are we i don't know i'm trying to think of something you're back i'm back yeah you're back baby and we all get to uh we're all going to the ozarks this weekend we are we'll probably have a lot to talk about after that or we won't remember much All right, we'll try and roll the phones so we have something to remember us.
00:49:06
I can't believe I'm going to have to buy the ingredients for this to make this. I will say, I think this would be a really good fall. Yeah, it would be great to have a football tailgate. Yeah, because it almost reminds you a tiny bit of apple pie shots, but it is pumpkin-y. I think you could even put more pumpkin pie spice in it. Hey, living on the edge. Yeah. Yeah. i don't give a fuck i'm gonna grill a suit yeah so all right um i saw you grabbing or are we no okay um i was just thinking about eating this candy bar do it try that because i actually want to know how it takes so i kept one at home because i'm gonna save it to share like i don't eat very much chocolate so i brought you guys yours and i want you guys to try it and see what you think also i have to say something sad that came up ryan sandberg died did you see the tribute that he had though i was bawling like a baby it's sad man it's like you know people are gonna die and we've kind of touched on this with other celebrities and things it's like it's weird getting older and then people are starting to drop off i mean you know like but there's just certain people i didn't even though i knew he had cancer i thought he beat it i think he did and then he got it again or something like that but i don't know it's kind of out of left field um and i just didn't expect it and you know the saddest part there were some really great tributes and all that stuff but just seeing like the highlights from then when he was first playing first went to the cubs in the phillies i mean that's when i started watching cubs baseball yeah he was my
00:50:37
first favorite player so like when you like andre dawson that's yeah like ryan sammer was who that's first baseball player i remember knowing his name you know yeah then i wanted to play second base you know what i mean and and going from there so he wasn't even like i always just assumed he was like a stud right from the get-go he wasn't even supposed to be that good like he was thrown in on a trade where it was just like they sprinkled something an extra to sweeten the pot he wasn't even the main you know star and i don't know there was an interview with uh sean dunston and he was saying how the last like couple months they talked a lot like him those two and andre dawson like ryan sandberg wanted to talk to them a lot and would just tell them how much he loved him and appreciate him and he's like we never talk like that so you know he knew yeah he wanted them to know that and all sides like god damn it man yeah no that was uh i had heard someone had talked about that they had a friend that just happened to have the tickets there on sunday when they did the big oh no way tribute you know i mean he had tickets a long time he had no idea you know it was just the weekend that they were going and and uh got to see all that stuff so yeah it is random you never know what's going to happen when you have a ticket to something like i'm not saying that some people get the greatest i was gonna say chicago other people get you know like poured on yeah because on a positive note like i remember uh caitlin clark so my my my boss and friend who's amazing uh she had she had uh oh my god i can't think of the word season tickets to the women's
00:52:11
basketball that season and i had never taken the kids to carver before and so she's like well i'm gonna give you guys tickets to go to one because we can't make this one or whatever i'm like okay well this was like early in the season well just so happened the tickets she gave us were the one where she broke the record and all that stuff yeah so i was like holy shit and i'm like are you sure you want us to have these i feel bad like you know because people are hawking them on the side for $500 a ticket. And she's like, no, I told you guys to go like, go enjoy it and whatever. And it was fucking super cool.
00:52:38
Who's a better person than I am. Yeah. Shaun, I already knew that. She listens to me when I talk. That wasn't a debate. Is that your talking? Shaun's like, hurry up, let's stop talking so I can see. You weren't wondering. You weren't.
00:52:51
It's a good thing. I don't have control of the mics. You guys all be muted. Yeah, it's weird. Can you imagine? We're talking for like a whole hour. We listen to the episode. It just Shaun talking the whole time just blank spaces That actually be a really funny prank Let us know if you like to hear that at home So how's the key anymore? That's not bad. I'm not a fan of white chocolate, so that's the only part of it. Oh, it was like normal milk chocolate on the outside. Say I do like white chocolate, but I don't love it or hate it more. You're not going to try yours. not right now only because eat the fucking candy.
00:53:32
I'm not putting your mouth. God damn it. All right. All right. Don't get some pie. We're going to call this episode. I know you can take it deeper than that.
00:53:49
Yeah, Matt was that said it's like wafery, but also like I think there's nougat and there's like, It reminds me of like a crunch bar, a hundred grand, but it's like white chocolate. Yeah. Here, I guess. Take a bite. I'll try a little bite. I'm with you. Yeah. I'm just not, but it doesn't taste as white chocolatey as like. No. I don't know. I mean, like. I just think if it had like some milk chocolate, that it would like compliment the kind of vanilla inside stuff. But I think you're right. The a hundred grand is a good comparison for. It is a good comparison, but I fucking like it. But I'm good.
00:54:24
I do like white chocolate yeah sexual chocolate oh my god oh coming to America I was like blank for a second like what are we talking about just let your soul glow so I think we've dabbed on this but the movie Rad I've never seen that oh my god you have to watch it that was like an 80s skate movie or was it a BMX movie it's BMX I've been watching like there's people that are ordering the bikes now they're like all these videos that i've seen oh it's been coming back like it's um my husband's 80 his childhood coming true and he like opens up and it's one of the bikes you know one of the gts or whatever and i just can't stop like i loved that movie when it came out i'm now see i'm gonna have to watch it well i know it's like our childhood basically in a nutshell so i don't know though like so like i never you know took my bike on a half pipe or in a pool or any like that so i wasn't old enough for that but But watching it, I was entertained by it.
00:55:25
I just wasn't like. But I mean, I've seen them on like even marketplace and stuff like that. People are finding like all original parts and putting them back together. And they're fucking expensive. I mean, a thousand over a thousand dollars for some of them. But to each their own. My ass is too big for one of those now, I feel like. Did you guys have like pegs and all that shit? I had pegs. And I also did the whole like put a playing card on my spoke. So it did. Oh, yeah. but that was about the extent of what i had nope my dirt bike was a huffy huffer but and it had the actually stomp back brakes you know i mean the pedal back or whatever see i miss i do miss that one yeah and then at a 10 speed did i tell you about oh man i almost killed myself on that's not funny but the way you said it was kind of like ben my cousin ben had this huge hill in in front of his house and actually it wasn't even i was on his 10 speed and he got a speedometer on it and so he was gone i'm trying to break his fucking record i get going and i'm like oh my god left or right break left right break which one do i hit and i fucking hit the wrong one and just just took off knocked out like over the bars over the bars yeah because i'm flying on the left one and went over the top took off wait hold on i i know this makes you sound silly but why does it matter which brake you hit left is front brake front brake so i locked up the front wheel and it just shot me like that i'm knocked out i remember thank god my parents happened to be looking out the window to see me freaking tumult so they ran out to go get me but i was
00:56:56
out like i don't even remember it sean's first concussion that was first one so uh the one of many but yeah so that was damn ben like he comes back his bike's all fucked up because yeah you're like i'm okay he's like fuck you're okay how's my bike i guess i i think when i always rode those i always just hit both brakes i mean i was fucking hauling ass because i'm going down a hill yeah and i just was no helmet no fear nothing at all see i was yeah i'm not like that no i just I'm here to break the record. You should have been a stunt man. Just took off from there. No, about the only equivalent I have has when they'd have like the street sign and it's like, tell us your speed.
00:57:45
And we'd try and see how fast we can get going. And then a car would go by at the same time. You're like, 50. No, man, I beat him. That wasn't a car. You can't prove it. That was totally me. I still do that shit like on Regbra. I try and register on it. Yeah, exactly. because you probably got to go like at least 15 or something you know i think it's like 20 like yeah go on go on well something i'm not gonna break on foot basically is what i wonder how fast i was even going i remember how fast i was going but then i know i was going way faster than when i shot off of it so then i see that that wasn't on i've just never had the dare double i mean i do a little bit driving but there's certain things that have just always scared the fuck out of me like going downhill on a bike going too fast i just i know what's going to happen if something bad happens and it freaks me out that and i think we talked about this too where it's like sports football never scared me like wrestling none of that ever it was just baseball scared me because i saw i've seen people get smoked with a ball and you're like that no i don't want to do that that sucks yep like how those guys get like i remember dawson getting drilled in the head and that's when maddox hit the guy and to even want to bat again after that i'd be like i'm done i'm walking away i'm hanging up retirement looks nice yeah so i mean and you see guys get up there and they're gun shy after that and i'm like yeah i don't blame them i was definitely not a daredevil i was just a dipshit who didn't think about it because then i was like time to hit the break i'm like which one is it which one is it which one is you know and then yeah just wrong and that's something else i feel like i don't know maybe it's because kids don't ride their bikes as much
00:59:15
more i know we talked about that but i don't i feel like kids aren't as crazy that yeah we also are more helicopter parents than helmets on and the whole thing. So like you, yeah, I don't know. I just, am I trying to think of my son, the worst injury he's had is he snapped his collarbone and that, I mean, it was bad, but it, but it wasn't, he tried to play it off. He can't, he was out with his friend Leland, uh, Julie's son. And he comes in and he's like holding his shoulder and he's like i can tell he's fighting back pain i'm like you okay he's like yeah i'm good i'm just gonna lay down like he said he fell off his scooter whatever i'm like all right when i come back in like 10 minutes later like you can see like tears in his eyes and he's just like trying real hard to hold it in i was like buddy what's wrong and he's like something's wrong and i could see a fucking bulge coming out i'm like oh no like how did you just fall off your scooter and do that and he's like well i was riding two scooters i was like how what is like a foot on each yeah so what happened well i couldn't stop i had to bail i'm like oh my god like couldn't you couldn't hold the throttle exactly our street is kind of downhill a little bit so he probably got some air going and just ate shit and snapped his collarbone but i'm like oh god man it was brutal but i do remember for that we get into the the er and whatever and they had to give him something for the pain because it was it was a really bad break like Like we got the x-ray.
01:00:44
It's like fucking very snapped. And they had to get, they gave him morphine and he's sitting there and probably a very small amount at that age. Right. But still he's sitting there and you see his eyes kind of gloss over and he's like, this feels great. And I'm like, holy shit that fast. And he's like, I really like this. I was like, all right, let's calm down. Jesus Christ. I'm back to normal. Yeah. I think scooters is the new like death trap for. Yeah. I see those way more. Yeah. Yeah. Even when I go down, like by the skate park, like I see a lot of scooters. I mean, there's a lot of people boarding too, but there's a lot of people on scooters.
01:01:19
They're like legit. All the kids ride them all around Solon. That's big shit. One of those things. Yeah. Yeah. Till you take one to the shin because they fucking spin. I've done that so many times where I like went to pack Layla's like maybe we're going camping and I wasn't paying attention and it just spins into my shin. I'm like, Oh God, it's like a trailer hitch. so with all the um rhino stuff with sandberg do you remember flip down glasses oh my god i forgot about that you know what i mean that they they make those anymore i don't think so yeah but i remember fucking wanting those so bad oh yeah like i remember just wanting those so bad and just like baseball and then like getting a pair and then being like all right throw the ball up they throw it up and then flip down.
01:02:07
They put a little too late. Take them all to the face. Exactly. Break the glasses. How fucking cool they flipped on glasses. So I don't know why. I totally. I mean, all the kids wear sunglasses now. Like that's all they, you know what I mean? So I don't know why. The next thing the kids probably had that was even like that was pit vipers got popular for a couple of years. I don't know if those are still popular. Are they? When there's new ones too, that are just like, they look like giant ski goggles. Yeah. Yeah. It's like the bigger, the, yeah. God, it's just funny the way trends go. Cause oh shit.
01:02:38
We were talking about something the other day that now it's coming back. Oh, Kara sent me some Tik TOK. Apparently girls, when we were in grade school or whatever, they'd wear these tiny little sweaters. They like stretched a lot. So they looked like for like a five-year-old, but they'd put them on and they fit. Well, this like millennial mom puts it on and just makes the sad face. And I was like, why? And Kara's like, those are coming back. They're starting to wear them again. I'm like, what the fuck? Like same with like flare jeans and JNCOs and you know, all that stuff. It's all, it just, just hold on to your shit.
01:03:07
It's going to come back in at some point. That's, that's the thing I guess, but I haven't seen fucking flip down glasses in a long time. No, that's another thing. I don't know how people catch baseballs in the outfield. Cause even with sunglasses on, it is so fucking hard to track that ball. I feel like you never flipped down sunglasses on. Isn't that cool? I had poverty sunglasses. It's called my hand. oh god i can't see shit yeah basically ducking behind your glove and god damn it almost got hit in the head again kid doesn't listen for shit yeah much of you hit the head you might have put your glove right in front of your head to be all right you would have been way better they just get a black eye but yeah you stay upright that's where the cte started yeah i only had one the one concussion that i remember which is weird to remember a concussion but it was so many really I mean, I think I'm upward five or six.
01:04:02
Explains a lot. Yeah. The older, the more you hear about this stuff. And I'm like, I'm forgetting stuff. Maybe I should have that thing looked at here. Well, and that's the thing is, my memory is fucking terrible. So maybe I had more and I just forgot him. I don't know. But the one I remember, it was football. It was freshman year. And you remember Jay Bowers. If he ever hears this, thanks a lot for this one. But he was fucking huge, especially compared to me. And he's charging on the field. no one could catch him and somehow i caught up to him and just hit him head on and he knocked me out and he was the one running the ball and like just sent me flying and then i ran to the wrong side of the field and like my team had to come get me i had no idea what was going on i was fucked up nope that happened to me multiple times yeah there's a joke that the coach was like somebody go get barry different times then it's the third time this month and yeah jay's older brother was just as bad trying to tackle so yeah ben run you over the same way i wish i was tall right i think that all the time it makes me sad a little bit taller i wish i was a baller there you go i did see a video of a guy that had like leg lengthening surgery and he was so proud that he did it it is fucking brutal bananas it's like brutal bananas dude yeah they snap your legs then they implant these like metal rods and you and you literally have to wear these like metal casts around your legs for like a year and you have to every now and then extend them Like you're going to die, which I thought like what if someone just ran up and cranked it, you know I'm like just directs to the afternoon all over again
01:05:34
I thought of it like cuz Layla's you know had all my kids She's already almost as tall as she doesn't need it I'm going that's her you but she were her braces. She had to have like an extender and you had to like turn it every night Look it with a little key and I'm like I'm imagine that on my leg where my leg is snapped I'm like I don't like being short But don't you look awkward when you got these long ass legs and the rest of your body wasn't built for this? I don't know. He looked normal, but I mean, I didn't see him naked. You also probably have some nasty scars too from that. Sure. So short King, stay short. Cheers to you.
01:06:10
Come on. Tom Cruise is like five foot five and he does well. So you'd be all right. Yeah, but he also gets shot at good angles. Oh my God. I heard he's eight dating on a day. enormous. No, I don't really, no, it doesn't really surprise me. The guy's like 70. Yeah, but he doesn't fucking look anything like he's 70. He still doesn't look 30 though. And she's smoking hot. Like she's top five. For anyone who doesn't know who she is, she is ballerina in the new John wick series, but she also was in a, you want to see her in a real fun roll look up the movie knock knock with keanu reeves that's all i'm saying i've never seen that i've just seen the previews it's not that good it's entertaining it's one of those movies where you're done you're like yeah that was fine yeah but so what marvel movie are you gonna watch this week sean oh yeah he's too cool i forgot i'm not too cool i just uh i know i'm just i think i'm i think i'm also just it's just so like and then let's see you guys talk about it there's so much more to know that you guys all know that if you watch them all and i'm definitely not dedicated to watch all that stuff well and i'm the same with other things if i fall behind like the show lost i never watched it people rave and like you have to watch it then you see how many episodes there is i won't start it because i'm like that's fucking two years of my life which is so i understand what you're saying was good but i've heard that yeah yeah but when you guys talked about i mean so i liked a lot of the marvel movies i'm just not like the paths and stuff
01:07:41
