CocktailAs made on Ep. 87, with classic measurements

Recipe

You'll need

  • 2 oz gin (Solstice gin from Benz Beverage Depot on the show)
  • 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 oz simple syrup
  • 6 to 10 fresh mint leaves

Make it

  1. Gently muddle the mint leaves with the simple syrup in a shaker.
  2. Add the gin and citrus, fill with ice and shake hard.
  3. Double strain over a big ice cube in a rocks glass (or into a chilled coupe).

Named after the Southside Inn, a fancy Long Island spot from around Prohibition, not the South Side of Chicago. Served over a big cube instead of a stemmed glass, and with a few stray mint leaves since the double strainer got left behind. Tastes like a lemon-lime popsicle with mint, close to a mojito. It won over at least one gin skeptic, who called it top five.

A box of Grape-Nuts showed up in Mike’s mailbox, and the guys put it to the test—deciding it tastes like “tiny rocks” and could use some serious help.
